Last year, our employees took part in an idea hackathon for best solutions to measure employees’ commuter footprint and nudge them towards better commuter habits. As a result, we equipped our office routes with iPads to gather information from employees about the means of transport and distances covered to commute between home and work. In return, we published the mean survey results and motivational messages to encourage employees make greener commuter choices. The technical solution was provided by NetGroup who rewarded the development as a special prize for the hackathon.   Soon after that, our paths crossed with Dottyland, an app-based function that automatically measures commuting-related indicators. With next to no input required from the employee, the app empowers its users to make better choices. “Dottyland is intended for businesses who are mapping their environmental impact and wish to reconfigure their activity to meet future environmental needs and expectations proactively,” said Dottyland’s co-founder Ketly Freirik. “As a co-product, it engages employees to make a team effort and reduce their carbon footprint,” added Freirik. The international macroeconomic analysis center FocusEconomics has recognized our macroeconomic analysts, Chief Economist Tõnu Mertsina and Senior Economist Liis Elmik, for the accuracy of their forecasts regarding the Estonian economy. 🏆👏 Each year, FocusEconomics acknowledges the most accurate economic forecasters in more than one hundred countries across six categories: GDP, government budget balance, inflation, current account, base interest rate, and exchange rate. To do this, they evaluate each expert's forecasts in various fields over a period of 22 months and rank the economists based on their average error rate. You can find the economic forecasts on our blog 👉 https://lnkd.in/d2T8QsAu

Let's meet Brit, who takes care of our business customers in South Estonia 🧡   I joined Swedbank, back then Hansapank, 16 years ago as a Data Specialist in the Analytical Team. My job included calculating provisions and putting together various reports while mainly communicating with internal partners. Soon after I joined, the economic crisis hit, and I had to take on several new tasks. For example, I addressed issues for individuals with house loans whose monthly salaries had disappeared. Finding and extracting the best information from the database became my everyday job.   After that, I spent a few years on maternity leave during which life quietly led me from Tallinn to Tartu. In 2013, I saw that they were looking for a Customer Manager in Tartu. I applied and got hired. This was followed by nearly 10 years of work with some of the biggest agricultural companies in Estonia. At the bank, we financed thousands of hectares of farmland and millions of liters of milk – all so Estonians could have the freshest and cleanest local food on their tables. 🥕🥛🥬   Since 2022, I've moved from a Customer Manager position into a leadership role that finances all medium-sized companies in South Estonia. Our customers come from various sectors, which means there's always something new to learn. Working at Swedbank has taught me that strength lies in teamwork! My team brings me the most joy; we are tight-knit, humorous, and have been together for a long time. There is also a vast number of specialists within the bank who are always ready and willing to share their knowledge.   If there were one career tip I'd give it would be: do your job well and with heart & soul! 😊   #swedbankpeople
