Wednesday Update!

While I have worked with RPG Maker VX Ace before, this is the first time I have made anything with MV.  Somehow, it feels like a whole new program to get used to despite it being extremely similar to VX Ace.  That might just be my stubborn brain preferring what its used to, though.

But I learned how to get animated sideview battles going, and quickly remembered how to work with map design and events.  I set up the first fight (its meant to be a hopeless boss fight, but Diarmuid does have something to say if you manage to defeat him).  I played around with the different databases.  All was going on schedule.

Then I decided I wanted the forest to be freakin huge.

And now the project is all off schedule and the demo is delayed at least one more week.

Because I decided to have big worlds to explore.

It's not truly open world, since I am designing the map out like a maze (I like doing that, okay) and the map isnt THAT big (despite my self-inflicted complaints).  But I'm adding lots of little nooks and crannies to discover and prizes to uncover.  There's even a robot lady to gives heals.  I did not plan on having a robot lady who gives heals, but oh well!

So the next few days of dev time is going to be me ensuring this forest map is dense, but still fun to explore.  I want to add some nice enemy variety, too.  I think I've been inspired by Elden Ring a bit in this regard.  Not difficulty wise, though.  Heck no.

Anyway, yes, that is my big goal for next week.  Make this forest map look great and add in the events that add Diarmuid to your party and such.  So this will be fun.

Moving from VXAce to MV is sure different but at the same time many things are similar, you will get used to it probably :) a huge forest sound a great idea :)

Variety of monsters is good too :)

Take your time :)
