About

This is an actual Game Boy game, playable on any model of the console: from the original Game Boy to the Game Boy Advance SP including the Game Boy Pocket, the Game Boy Color, the Super Game Boy and the Game Boy Player! Of course the game will also run in any Game Boy emulator program. To play it on a emulator, you can download the ROM file of the game here. If you want to play it on an actual Game Boy, you can buy a Sheep It Up! cartridge with or without a beautiful box and manual. The game cartridges are made with newly manufactured parts, and are assembled by hand!

Last but not least, you can also enjoy the game here using an online emulator programmed in Javascript: the GameBoy Online emulator by Grant Galitz.

If you still happen to be checking comments - is there any difference between the rom download, the old Catskull cart, and the one sold by Yastuna, as far as the actual game (ignoring any copyright/publisher screens).

Hi! I'm still checking the comments, and thanks for your question.

Gameplay-wise all versions of the game (the free rom available here or the two different physical editions) are identical. Their only differences are related to the publisher logo screen and / splash screen:

- The free rom available here has a "Catskull" logo screen and the word "Free Rom version" on the title screen.

- The physical release by Catskull also have the same "Catskull" logo screen, but doesn't have the "free rom version" mention on the title screen. This one was only available as "cartridge only", and is out of print since several years.

- The physical release by Yastuna Games have a "Yastuna Game" logo screen, and the same title screen as the Catskull physical release, without the "free rom version" mention. This edition is still available from Yastuna Games, as cartridge only or complete in box (or even as "box only" for those wishing to update the catskull release to a complete version). More info here: https://yastuna-games.com/en/nintendo-game-boy/52-65-sheep-it-up-gb.html#/28-gb_...

Don't hesitate to ask me if you need more details / info!

Thanks so much! I have the Yastuna one on cart and the free ROM, and just like to know if there's any I should play over the other. Sounds like I can use my cart when I need a cart and the free ROM when emulating and all will be the same in-game!

You're welcome! Thanks for supporting the game, and you're right, gameplay-wise you can play either version, an highscore made on the cart would be equally difficult to achieve on the rom version and vice-versa :).
