Time for a boost to EU's green industry!   Parliament has voted its final YES to the Net Zero Industry Act. A well needed push to our green industry.   When building big European infrastructure projects, we need to secure that they benefit our European industry. Both so Europe can deliver on its green policies now and in the future, but also for Europe to be resistant towards a a more competitive global market.   Therefore, I have in the economy committee especially worked towards an ambitious non-price criteria; meaning that price should not be the only lever when for example offshore windmill auctions are made. In this way, auctions can be designed to have local and environmental benefits that will help keep Europe competitive and able to keep knowledge in Europe, so we can develop and deliver in better solutions in the future.     With the law, we also aim for the EU to deliver 40 percent of its own net zero technology needs in 2030. The aim is a competitive green industry. Not that Europe closes around itself.   Further, permitting time needs to decrease. Too many green projects gets tangled up in lengthy processes with never ending questioning. Setting requirements for how long these processes can drag on, can help to shorten processes.   This legislation does not solve it all. But the Net Zero Act is an important step in the right direct to boost our green industry and set Europe's priorities towards a net zero future.   I also comment on the new legislation in Altinget (in Danish): https://lnkd.in/dQDG6FgU
