  • Time to get back into gear🏎🙌 While a few colleagues are still enjoying a well-deserved summer break, most of Team Copenhagen is back in the office this week. Thank you to our colleagues who held the fort in July so the rest of us could recharge the batteries.🙏 Recharged or not - we might need a bit of extra coffee to get through the post-holiday inbox, but if you have any questions or queries about Copenhagen, we're here and more than happy to answer them. 📧☎ We hope you've all had (or are having) a great time off, and we can't wait to catch up with industry friends and colleagues on the other side.☀ See you out there! #copenhagen #eventprofs #meetingprofs

  • Did you know that this year marks the 20th anniversary of the New Nordic Food Manifesto?⭐ It’s hard to talk about Copenhagen’s rise to becoming an international culinary hotspot without mentioning the New Nordic Food Manifesto. 👩🍳Signed by 12 Nordic top chefs back in 2004, the manifesto changed the Danish approach to cooking and the use of local products, paving the way for a whole new gastronomic wave. It also marked the beginning of a new era for Copenhagen, where restaurants like Noma conquered the world stage of gastronomy. Today, 20 years later, Copenhagen’s food scene has evolved into a big “reason to go” for many visitors - the big difference being that it’s no longer just about the Nordic cuisine. The city has become a fantastic melting pot of different world cuisines, types of eateries, and new food trends. In fact, there’s something for every taste and budget. So, while Copenhagen is so much more than the epicentre of Nordic cuisine, we can’t emphasise enough the significance of the manifesto. And in case you wonder what to expect in Copenhagen: 🥕The city boasts 26 Michelin stars (across 15 restaurants) 🥕Copenhagen restaurants Noma and Geranium have both held the titles of World’s best restaurants 🥕There are several street food markets scattered across the city 🥕Copenhagen is home to a string of world-class bakeries specialising in everything from state-of-the-art pastries to sourdough delicacies #copenhagen #gastronomy #eventprofs #sustainability Photo: Daniel Rasmussen

  • This past weekend we had the pleasure of hosting a group of event planners in Copenhagen, showcasing what our wonderful city has to offer for business events. With a focus on sustainable incentive activities, progam highlights included, a rooftop welcome at ROOF (Nh Collection Copenhagen), hydro biking on the harbour, a rickshaw ride along the lovely canals, lunch at Reffen by Copenhagen Street Food and of course we had to visit the innovative CopenHill. Local cuisine was enjoyed in the beautiful Tivoli Garden and on the last night - harbourside with the creative Bike Chef CYKELKOKKEN. What a weekend! Thank you to Idéa Nordic for pulling the programme together and to the newly rennovated Copenhagen Marriott for hosting the group. We could not do these programmes without the support of our many excellent partners in the city. And of course thank you to the lovely event planners who gave up their weekend to join us. If you want to learn more about what Copenhagen can offer your groups do drop us a note and the team will be happy to assist. #copenhagen #sustainability #fun #partnerships

  • Today, our colleagues at Wonderful Copenhagen are launching a new nudging campaign, CopenPay – Copenhagen attractions reward climate actions. CopenPay is about encouraging tourists to make conscious decisions that benefit us all and be rewarded for them. Together with over 20 attractions in Copenhagen, CopenPay rewards actions such as cycling, participating in cleanup efforts, or volunteering at urban farms with access to a variety of enriching experiences and everyday wonders of Copenhagen. This includes complimentary guided museum tours, free kayak rentals, and even a free vegetarian lunch made from local crops. The campaign will run from today and for the next four weeks. We hope that this is just the beginning and that more attractions will join in the years to come, just as we hope to inspire other destinations to organise similar initiatives. So, if you’re in Copenhagen, join CopenPay or read more about the campaign here: www.copenpay.com #copenPay #Copenhagen

  • Despite it being holiday-time, our team is still busy with activities. Last week our colleague Lene Corgan attended The Meetings Space in Amsterdam, a great platform to meet with new and existing clients from across Europe and introducing them to Copenhagen as a premier destination in which to host sustainable meetings and incentives. If you would also like to connect with our team and learn more about what Copenhagen has to offer for your events please leave a comment below and we will be in touch. #copenhagen #connections #sustainability

  • Meet our new colleague! We’re very excited to share that Mathias Kræpping Mouritsen has joined our Congress team as bid manager.🤩 Mathias brings with him a wealth of experience from the travel industry, where he has honed his skills in supplier relations, product development, and sales. He also has a Master's in sustainable tourism management, which will no doubt add a lot of value to our team and our overall ambitions. We’re so happy to have Mathias on board.🙌 He's a great person, and you know you've chosen the right person when the only thing you can fault him on is his lack of interest in sports.😉 #meetingprofs #eventprofs #copenhagen

  • Collect rubbish on your morning jog and make a difference - also on your business trip.🏃♀️ Have you heard of ‘plogging’? Plogging is when you combine jogging with picking up rubbish. The concept has gone global and has become a popular way to make a positive contribution to our planet.🌍 In Copenhagen, Clarion Hotel Copenhagen Airport has also embraced the concept. Every Wednesday morning, rain or shine, the hotel invites its guests and locals to go jogging together while collecting rubbish. The weekly morning jog has proven popular, with up to 50 people joining in. And the rubbish? So far, Clarion has collected several tons of rubbish, all of which is sorted and sent to recycling centres. In fact, one jog resulted in 50 kg of rubbish!🙌 Clarion also invites schools and kindergartens to join its plogging mission. Last year alone, 23 schools and kindergartens participated in the runs. So, for your next trip to Copenhagen, don’t forget to pack your runners. Christa Rosengren Strawberry #strawberry #copenhagen #sustainability #eventprofs

  • With summer, the weekend and #Euro2024 upon us, a cold and refreshing drink seems very fitting. If you're in Copenhagen and would like to do some sightseeing as well, you can do like our friend Sabrina Meyers (she/her) - Global Event Manager and combine the two. BeerWalks offers outdoor guided walking experiences with stories and beer tastings. It's great for individuals as well as groups and, actually, you can do it all year round 😉 Have a great weekend, everyone! #meetingprofs #eventprofs #incentives #copenhagen

  • Something is brewing in Copenhagen this week... With 4.1 billion cups of coffee consumed in Denmark every year, it's fair to say we're a coffee-loving nation. But this week, we’re taking it up a notch thanks to World of Coffee, which kicks off in Bella Center Copenhagen tomorrow.☕ Organised by Specialty Coffee Association (SCA), World of Coffee is Europe’s largest coffee congress and tradeshow. The event is expected to attract 10,000 coffee connoisseurs, industry professionals and coffee lovers from all over the world. In addition to this, Copenhagen is also hosting the World Coffee Championships 2024, which include the 2024 World Latte Art, World Coffee in Good Spirits and World Coffee Roasting Championships.🏆 As with other congresses, Copenhagen Legacy Lab is involved with World of Coffee. The lab has invited coffee professionals from local hotels and restaurants to connect with international coffee suppliers as part of an ambition to push the green agenda in the international coffee industry.  #legacy #meetingprofs #eventprofs #copenhagen Gerda-Marie Rist Jakob Kjeldgaard

  • From representing Copenhagen in London and Prague to launching Copenhagen's new UCI bike race and discussing sustainability best practices with partners. This week was full of highlights for our team✨ The lead-up to the summer break is always busy, and this June is no exception for us. Here are some of the things we got up to this week: ➡ Our colleague Lene Corgan did an excellent job representing Copenhagen at this year's The Meetings Show in London, along with some wonderful partners. Meanwhile, Søren Simonsen held a marathon of valuable meetings in Prague with Thomas Corneliussen. ➡ The events team (Kim Mejnert Frydensbjerg and Lars Vallentin Christensen) were part of a proud group of partners who launched the name and route of Copenhagen's new UCI bike race. As the name suggests, "Copenhagen Sprint" aims to become a sprint classic, providing the world's best sprinters with the perfect warm-up for the Tour de France.🚵♀️ ➡ Our Head of Sustainability, Catharina Cecilie Aas, and the team gathered signatories of our Planet Copenhagen manifesto to a great networking event at the Copenhagen Marriott Hotel to discuss best practices within sustainability and how to avoid greenwashing and green hushing in your communication. The cherry on the top? The amazing view of the Copenhagen harbour.🌊 ➡ Finally, Kit Lykketoft spoke to Vicky Koffa from Boardroom Magazine about AI, innovation and sustainability in the meetings industry. Read the interview here: https://lnkd.in/gWWrfm-X Thank you to everyone involved, and have a great weekend, everyone.🙌 Meetings Show photo: VisitDenmark Business Events #eventprofs #meetingsprofs #sustainability #copenhagen
