Voluntās has been instrumental in the launch of "Nos Racines – Our Roots," an EU-funded initiative focused on preventing violent extremism in Tunisia, with a special emphasis on empowering youth and women. A highlight of the project is supporting individuals like Hajer, a 34-year-old single mother from Bizerte, who, through her training in hairstyling funded by the project, has now become a beacon of resilience and success as a self-employed hairstylist. Last week, we unveiled our Norwegian Meaningfulness at Work 2024 Report at The Conduit in Oslo! 🇳🇴🙏 Discover the latest insights on how Norwegians can find more meaning at work. Here is a glimpse of what the report uncovers:   🤝 Belonging drives meaningfulness for 41% of the Norwegian workforce. To enhance this, organizations should focus on team-building, inclusive practices, and supportive environments. Training leaders to be inclusive and supportive can amplify belonging and overall meaningfulness. 🌱 Leaders’ ability to inspire Purpose is a major detractor of work meaning in Norway. Improving leaders' skills in communicating organizational goals and linking individual roles to these can enhance perceived meaningfulness. 📈 Women are less likely to experience high meaning at work, indicating a need for gender-inclusive communication and leadership training that emphasizes emotional intelligence and inclusivity. 🎯 Norway excels in attracting and retaining young talent. Young Norwegians have a strong sense of organizational purpose, pride, and safety, feeling free to discuss mistakes and enjoy spending time with colleagues, which is crucial for Generation Z.   🔗 You can download the full report here: https://lnkd.in/dtKbF8dw

Pier 3 | Meaningful Urban Development 🌱 Voluntās has partnered up with the visionary and competent partners Bricks A/S, AP Ejendomme, Heartland and Kilden & Hindby, Cobe, SLETH, BRIQ, NIRAS and Artelia with the purpose of transforming the former ferry terminal at Aarhus Ø, Pier 3, into a meaningful urban district. Our role is to spearhead the citizen involvement process and philanthropic advisory council. We fundamentally believe that cities should be designed for human beings, with focus onmeaningfulness as the key driver of existential well-being – ensuring that citizens feel a strong sense of belonging to their surroundings, actively engage in their local community, and connect with one another. We aim to explore and understand what makes a neighborhood meaningful for the citizens of Aarhus who will visit, engage, and live on Pier 3 in the future. Over the coming years, Voluntās will conduct comprehensive surveys involving thousands of Aarhusanians and facilitate dialogue with the ambition of creating a more evidence-based approach to understanding citizens' aspirations, perceptions, and preferences. These insights will be shared the architects and urban strategists to inspire and guide the development of the area. Voluntās looks very much forward to the upcoming collaboration. We are pleased to share the results of our recent collaboration with UNHCR Jordan on the 2024 Vulnerability Assessment Framework (VAF) reports. The reports and accompanying dashboards provide a comprehensive assessment of the situation of refugees living in camps and host communities, examining shelter, protection, education, health, basic needs and food security, WASH, and economic empowerment. For the first time, the report also looks at climate vulnerability. The findings show an increase in poverty rates and food insecurity among refugees amid a challenging economic environment, with UNHCR warning about a re-emerging humanitarian crisis. Overall, the analysis will be used by the humanitarian and development sector in Jordan to more effectively target assistance. You can find both reports here: https://lnkd.in/d6qCZmgh Earlier this week, our colleagues, Nour S. and Rebecca John traveled to Amman for the launch of the report and to disseminate and discuss findings with the Jordan International NGO Forum and UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency sectoral colleagues. They also visited Zaatari Camp – the largest refugee camp for Syrian refugees in the world – to visit UNHCR projects and understand how the findings will be used to reach the most vulnerable beneficiaries. For questions, please reach out to Rebecca John, Head of Voluntās’ Middle East Regional Office.

Last week, we unveiled our Meaningfulness at Work 2024 Report at Industriens Hus in heart of Copenhagen. 🇩🇰   🌱 Our latest findings reveal a positive shift: work is becoming more meaningful, with an increasing score for the second year in a row, from 73 in 2023 to 74 in 2024.   🌍 Interestingly, Denmark experienced a slight decline, with scores dropping from 75 to 74. Meanwhile, Mexico sets a remarkable example, leading with a score of 84, while Australia and the UK lag behind with scores of 69 and 70, respectively.   📈 A concerning trend persists among the youth. For the third year in a row, individuals under 25 report the lowest sense of meaning at work, scoring 71. This is largely due to feelings of insecurity and difficulty in grasping the significance of their roles within organizations.   🔗 You can download the full report here: https://lnkd.in/eQaWZbJf
