Have you ever wondered how a Service Technician in VELUX Commercial spends the days usually? 🏢🛠️ Service contracts are a central part of the business model for VELUX Commercial Norway, and the number of contracts is steadily growing. Currently, they have around 2,500 running service contracts, and add 200 more every year. The contracts are automatically renewed from year to year and besides generating recurring revenue, they also lead to additional revenue from repairs and maintenance. At VELUX Commercial, we are part of a global team working for the greatest impact. Our Recruiter, Dóra Lakatos, who usually works from our office in Budapest, recently got the opportunity to immerse herself in the German work environment by helping out the HR Team for two weeks at the Hüllhorst office. Dóra worked closely with the team on onboarding new team members engaging in interesting discussions regarding process flows, recruitment and HR Administration. Since last October, Dóra has also been enhancing her language skills by taking a German course, recognising the importance of connecting with the DACH region, which is VELUX Commercial's largest market. Her stay in Hüllhorst allowed her to improve her German skills as well. "I enjoyed my time in Hüllhorst a lot! The HR team in the office was amazing. They welcomed me warmly, helped and guided me throughout my stay. They did everything they could to make me feel comfortable. I was able to connect with my team, discuss a lot of interesting and exciting topics. It really made me realize how important One Team mentality is. It was an eye-opening experience for sure. Denmark's historic Øbro-Hallen swimming pool has been given a new lease on life! This iconic building, steeped in cultural significance, has undergone a major renovation to address water damage and structural issues. A key focus was on sustainability and preserving the building's heritage. By upgrading the skylights with VELUX Glazing Panels, they have ensured optimal illumination year-round and reduced energy consumption by a significant 47,539 KWh. The ‘Le Bains des Docks’ bathing centre, designed by the renowned architect Jean Nouvel, has fascinated visitors since its opening in 2008 with its unique labyrinthine water landscape and monochrome colour scheme. After extensive renovation in 2023, which included the renewal of the entrance area, the centre is now shining in new splendour. Highlights such as a salt grotto, cryotherapy and modern play equipment attract new bathers. As part of the necessary roof sealing, various skylights also had to be replaced. Since corrosion is a great concern in rooms with high salt and chlorine content, a daylight and ventilation solution was needed that meets these requirements. The choice fell on Modular Skylights, which were supplied with corrosion-resistant profiles and special components for use in swimming pools. This month, we welcomed eight new apprentices to VELUX Commercial. We are thrilled to be able to provide them with the opportunity to learn and develop their skills as industrial clerks, metal technology specialists and technical product designers. At the introductory event in Hüllhorst, Germany, the apprentices visited our production facility and already gained valuable insights into the subject of occupational safety.
