In the first half of 2024, after forming the core investment team in 2023, Sagitta Investments and Ventures achieved significant progress. We further refined our investment strategy and concentrated on expanding our investment portfolio. We actively supported the management teams of our portfolio companies, which involved overseeing direct investments and collaborating with the GPs of our fund commitments. The company has partnered with several strong PE funds locally and in the US. At the start of the year, Sagitta invested in Axcel VII, a reputable Nordic PE fund with a proven track record. We look forward to the partnership with Christian Schmidt-Jacobsen, Christian Bamberger Bro and the rest of the Axcel team. Furthermore, we have dedicated considerable time to developing PE relations in the US and are excited about the opportunities in this market. Sagitta became a LP in Monomoy Capital Partners, a middle-market PE investor focused on manufacturing and distribution companies in the industrial and consumer sectors led by Daniel Collin and Justin Hillenbrand. According to Pitchbook, Monomoy ranked #3 globally within buyouts. We added exposure to the broader US government end markets through the partnership with OceanSound, led by Joe Benavides. They have specialized in and developed a strong playbook for investing in U.S.-based technology and technology-enabled services companies serving the government and highly regulated commercial end markets. In the venture space, we supported two different strategies. Sagitta was a cornerstone investor in the Isomer Secondaries Fund I, led by Joe Schorge. The fund primarily invests in secondary LP fund interests in EU VC funds, as well as in GP stakes and directly in early-stage companies. We have also invested in Kost Capital, a food and ingredients-focused seed investor led by Bodil Sidén and founded by Kasper Hulthin, Mark Emil Hermansen, and Christian Tang-Jespersen. Additionally, Sagitta has made its first minority investment in a market-leading profitable company – Boston Distribution, partnering with the lead investor Treville, led by Casper Lykke Pedersen, Nikolaj Vejlsgaard, and Lars Thomassen. At Sagitta, we are unwavering in pursuing exciting investment opportunities in growing companies within the early-stage/smaller/middle-market segment. We are committed to partnering with strong and ambitious management teams and investors to grow market-leading companies we can support as a minority investor. Significant activity has also occurred in the portfolio of direct early-stage investments, with our team fully committed to being a valuable partner, providing assistance where needed, and leveraging the right resources and competencies. As we have entered the second half of 2024, we are enthusiastic about the possibilities of adding further investments to our different strategies and deepening our relationships across the current portfolio of direct investments and partnerships with fund managers.

⛹♂️ 🤾♂️ We encourage kids to go outside, make friends, and enjoy the freedom of play, by supporting Just Plays initiative ⛹♀️ 🤾♀️ Research shows: Free play fosters imagination, independence, and self-understanding in children, but modern challenges like screens and scheduled activities limit this essential activity. Creating free environments for play is crucial for children's development and well-being. The Just Play initiative offers children a space to engage in valuable, free, and imaginative play, enhancing their self-esteem and ability to navigate the world. When was the last time you told your children to run out and play with the other kids?  According to recent research, children are playing less and less. This decline in playtime affects their learning, happiness, and understanding of democratic principles.   Just Human, an NGO, advocates for more unsupervised, ‘free’ playtime, particularly outdoors, to significantly improve children's mental wellbeing. At Sagitta Charity Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Sagitta Investments, we are dedicated to exploring new ways to reduce anxiety, stress, and isolation among children and young adults. That's why we are proud to announce our three-year donation to the Just Play initiative. This program aims to encourage kids to go outside, make friends, and enjoy the freedom of play.

What did you do this summer? On the first day back at school in August, thousands of children in Denmark will have no good answer to that question. They didn’t have ice cream on the beach, visit a zoo or go on vacation anywhere. This is why Mødrehjælpen has launched Holiday Help (Feriehjælpen) for parents without financial means to create summer holiday memories with their children. At Sagitta Charity Foundation - the philanthropic arm of Sagitta Investments, we are proud of our donation to Mødrehjælpen, which will enable 500 children to have a summer memory to share with their classmates, when school starts again. @mødrehjælpen

Are you happy with your body? Only 46.8% of girls in 6th grade answer yes to that question. As they grow older, both boys and girls get progressively less and less satisfied with their bodies. At Sagitta Charity Foundation - the philanthropic arm of Sagitta Investments, we are proud of our donation to a new initiative from foreningen Spiseforstyrrelser & Selvskade. The project Spejlven (Mirror friend) is rolled out in the 6th grade at schools in Denmark. Through dialogue, compliment games, image and social media understanding and much more, the students learn about acceptance of natural bodies and non-acceptance of unrealistic body ideals. Teachers and parents equally learn about the effect of their words and actions when discussing bodies and ideals. The 2023 donation from Sagitta Charity Foundation means that Spejlven will reach an additional 500 students, an additional 200 parents and an additional 100 teachers across Denmark. #foreningenspiseforstyrrelserogselvskade

What a dynamic journey Sagitta Ventures experienced throughout 2023. A few highlights include the expansion of our investment team, growing from 2 to 6 professionals by year-end. In the summer, we crafted the DNA and investment philosophy of Sagitta Ventures, drawing inspiration from the Unicorn success of 3Shape, our deep-rooted operational mindset, and a commitment to long-term focus. Sagitta Ventures's DNA is rooted in a passion for innovation, inspired by 3Shape and a commitment to operational excellence. We aim to support a vibrant innovation ecosystem by empowering visionary founders with strategic investments and hands-on support, aspiring to be the preferred long-term companion for outstanding entrepreneurs and companies. We partnered with our good friends Christian Tang-Jespersen and Hany Nada from ACME Capital, becoming minority investors in Uhnder, Inc., that is revolutionizing automotive and automated mobility with the first digital imaging radar-on-chip. The investment reflects our conviction in autonomous driving and the continual improvement of its safety. Our hearts beat for healthcare and innovative solutions given our heritage. Hence, we increased our commitments to WARD 24/7 and MedBeat, two companies having developed solutions to improve preventive healthcare and decrease overall cost of public healthcare. As big believers in the green transition and the need to accelerate the electrification, we teamed up with Anders Forslund and his mgnt team through the investment in Heart Aerospace which mission is to create the world’s greenest, most affordable, and most accessible form of transport. We also supported Awake with capital and resources to pursue their mission to electrify the watersports market. While very active as a minority investor, we truly believe in partnerships, and we therefore entered a number of such with leading PE firms both locally and globally. We are excited about the partnership with Axcel having joined as LP in their most recent fund. On the greener front, we supported the inaugural of Glentra Capital headed up by Henrik Tordrup. We spent considerable time in the US and are very excited about the opportunity space and commitments we made. We became an LP in Valeas Capital Partners, a lower/mid-market growth investor founded by the seasoned investors Ed Woiteshek and Rob Little, former Hellman & Friedman and Golden Gate Ventures. In addition, we teamed up with @Christopher Collins and Christopher Lawler, the co-founders of Percheron Capital which has developed a strong playbook for investing in essential services business. Both managers have shown an exceptional track record and a differentiated approach to driving value. In addition, we joined ICONIQ Capital's impressive LP base of current and former unicorn founders through our commitment to the Strategic Partners VII. As we embark on 2024, we are poised for an even more exciting year, continuing our deployment pace across our investment strategies.

Sagitta Ventures are very excited to welcome Asbjørn Hangaard Joensen as our new General Counsel! Asbjørn comes with a strong track record from Danske Bank Asset Management, where he had the responsibility for the legal aspects of the Alternative Investments department. Prior to that Asbjørn held a position as general counsel in Mikkeller – the Danish micro craft brewery - following 5 years of working with finance and M&A transactions with the Danish law firm Gorrissen Federspiel. Asbjørn will have a broad scope in his role as General Counsel supporting on legal aspects of both investments, family office matters as well as supporting our direct investments in the portfolio on legal matters.
