As climate change impacts our daily lives, urban issues like flood risks, polluted rainwater, and the need for water in green spaces are getting tougher to handle. That's where effective water management comes in. At ROCKWOOL Rainwater Systems, part of ROCKWOOL Group, we offer a solution for #rainwater capture, filtration, and reuse. Our #Rockflow system captures, stores, filters, and slowly releases rainwater back into urban areas, preventing floods and protecting water quality. It also stores water to keep trees healthy during dry periods. 💦🌿 During our recent field trip to Rotterdam, we partnered with Gemeente Rotterdam and Urban Future. to demonstrate the power of our innovations in addressing these challenges. Check out the video to see our solutions in action and learn more about their impact! 📢 Mirella Amalia Vitale, Anne-Sofie Drud Gregersen, Corinna May, Daan Los, Gerald Babel-Sutter, Lisa Marie Gatterbauer, Jacqueline Laure, Alexander Urban, Katarzyna Nowak #ROCKWOOL #MoreThanInsulation #WaterManagement #ResilientCities #Cities
Around 45 city leaders participated in a field trip organised by the Gemeente Rotterdam & ROCKWOOL Group as part of the Urban Future 2024. Rockwool implements projects across the city to manage runoff, reduce flood risks, and generate fresh water for enhancing the city's green spaces. Some locations store water in aquifers to sustain trees during dry periods. 💦🌿 On June 5th, participants of the field trip got to see innovative water management techniques implemented by the municipality of Rotterdam at three sites in the city: 🔹 Driehoeksplein 🔹 Sparta Stadium 🔹 Museumpark Rotterdam Zhaoqian Zhou, one of the attendees, enjoyed the trip. "It was great to get practical insights into what the city is doing, understand the systems, and witness the benefits to citizens."

Our stone wool is endlessly recyclable with no loss in its performance properties, so we gladly take it back from construction, renovation and demolition sites. ♻ The service is called Rockcycle® and it is available in 21 countries so far, with a goal of 30 by 2030. 🌍 We take back and recycle it in our production process to make new ROCKWOOL products. #ROCKWOOL #StoneWool #StoneWoolInsulation #Circularity

Because our stone wool insulation is so durable – lasting at least 65 years and probably more – it will last and last. And when a building’s lifetime is up, it can be recycled again and again with no loss in thermal or other performance properties. ♻ #ROCKWOOL #StoneWool #StoneWoolInsulation #Circularity

Our stone wool building materials are non-hygroscopic and water repellent. What's the difference? Water repellent means it is engineered to prevent water from penetrating the surface, while non-hygroscopic means it will not attract or absorb moisture from the surrounding environment. ✅ Both are important features in many of our products, including ROCKWOOL insulation, Rockpanel cladding and Rockfon acoustic tiles. #ROCKWOOL #StoneWool #StoneWoolInsulation #MoistureRepellence

Moisture will be a challenge in a lot of construction projects and can lead to mould and mildew growth, rot and corrosion if it accumulates. One way of reducing those risks is by choosing materials like ROCKWOOL stone wool that are water repellent and will not absorb moisture from the air, instead letting it pass through its permeable structure. ✅ #ROCKWOOL #StoneWool #StoneWoolInsulation #MoistureRepellence

ROCKWOOL stone wool building materials are water repellent. If moisture is able to accumulate in a construction, it can lead to mould, mildew growth and rot that can cause long-term problems in a building and unhealthy air quality for occupants. Our stone wool used in buildings is water repellent and will not absorb moisture from the air, instead letting it pass through its permeable structure. These traits help protect the building and the health of the people in it from the negative impacts of moisture build-up. ✅ #ROCKWOOL #StoneWool #StoneWoolInsulation #MoistureRepellence

🌍 With half of the world's population now living in cities, greenhouse gas emissions and global temperatures are rapidly rising. 📈 🏗️ The built environment is a significant contributor to these emissions, so join us as we dive 'Beneath the Surface' and discover how New York City is combatting this challenge with one of the most significant global climate legislations to date: the Climate Mobilization Act. 🏢 We'll examine how the city's architects are taking inspiration from Passive House design, learn how insulation forms the bedrock of these energy-efficient buildings, and finally ask the question: is the city that never sleeps, wide awake to climate change?
