"The goal of the tools we create is to navigate that latent space... To me that is why it remains the same thing – you're still guiding something out of an infinity of possible results." Charles Gorintin (co-founder of Mistral AI and co-founder and CTO of Alan) on why he believes GenAI marks a technological – as opposed to an epistemological – revolution from our ReD Dialogue on Authorship in the Age of AI in Paris last month, alongside Neil Beloufa (artist and co-founder of EBB) and ReD's Alexis Jakubowicz and Charlotte Vangsgaard. ReD Leadership Interview // Culture as the key ingredient in successful M&As   In 2023, Novo Nordisk acquired French MedTech company BIOCORP, as part of their strategy to complement existing capabilities with external innovation in the future. In our latest Leadership interview, VP of Corporate Development at Novo Nordisk Mikael Wedell-Wedellsborg – who played a leading role in the integration – and Biocorp’s CEO Eric Dessertenne speak to ReD’s Mads Holme and Alexis Jakubowicz on how they navigated this acquisition; from the importance of carrying out a deep cultural analysis upfront, to maintaining an open dialogue during the integration phase, to seeing cultural tensions not as problems to solve but fruitful moments of growth and learning.    “Culture was the cornerstone of the integration,” says Mikael, “but we had to do the culture work differently; we had to go in-depth as opposed to past acquisitions. We knew that if we didn’t get this right from the start, it would turn out to be something that would haunt us later.”   Read the full interview below where you can also read ReD’s four recommendations for leaders looking to get cultural integration right. #leadership #strategy #M&A

"We made something that allowed anyone to build and generate those images and what we realised was that we actually needed more designers than before... And so the most important thing became not so much the ability to make but the ability to judge." At our ReD Dialogue on Authorship in the Age of AI in Paris last month, Charles Gorintin (co-founder of Mistral AI and co-founder and CTO of Alan) spoke about bringing AI into the creative process and why curation is just as important as creation when it comes to working with these technologies. Charles was joined by ReD's Alexis Jakubowicz and Charlotte Vangsgaard and Neil Beloufa (artist and co-founder of EBB) to discuss and challenge the future impact of AI on the relationship between companies, consumers and creators. "This serves as a crucial lesson for any business leader: regardless of how strong your track record is or how much value you demonstrate, it stills need to be communicated with care and empathy," writes ReD's Alexis Jakubowicz in a letter in this weekend's Financial Times, on what France's recent political events can teach us about good leadership.
