Sip & Share🍷 Whether we can (or cannot) define if a wine smells of white flowers or truffles and tastes of green apples or tobacco is fortunately not relevant to our skills as investment experts. But then again… Wine is the subject of our expertise. Wine has to be drunk sooner or later. And we love wine. That's why we invest in educating our employees, developing competences and adding layers to our expertise under the concept of ‘sip & share’. Yesterday evening was all about Côte de Beaune, Piedmont and Tuscany. We dissected areas, tasted and shared knowledge. Are we taste experts now? Certainly not. But we've indulged our passion for wine - and that certainly makes us better investment experts.

According to Bloomberg, Alibaba co-founder Joe Tsai has reportedly acquired vineyards in Burgundy. If confirmed, Tsai will join the unofficial club of wealthy businessmen who have bought into prestigious Burgundy. Wealthy businessmen like François Pinault of the inversting company Artémis and Bernard Arnault via LVMH group. Wealthy businessmen who rarely invest for fun, but with growth in mind. And when someone like these invests in Burgundy, they bring with them a luxury image, branding and commitment - all of which can intensify demand for the already extremely scarce and exclusive Burgundian wines - resulting in price increases.
