WELCOME TO NORDIC SOLAR! 🌞   Meet Søren Langkilde. We're excited to welcome Søren as our new Software Developer. Søren is developing solutions to ensure seamless data flow from our solar parks to our storage systems and throughout our operations. With a master’s degree in Nanoscience, he brings a valuable set of skills to this role. Fun fact: Søren enjoys parkour, finding it a great way to stay active and challenge himself.   Meet Samira Minaei. Our new People Operations Coordinator. Samira dives into employee data management, internal policies, and procedures. Previously at Novicell and at Novo Nordisk, focusing on HR processes like recruitment and onboarding. She enjoys exploring hidden dining spots and cultural venues in Copenhagen and practicing reformer as well as her newfound hobby, sauangus.   Meet Claus Hartmann. Our new Director of Trading & PPA. Claus maximizes the value of our electricity through long-term PPAs or shorter-term trading. With over 35 years in the European energy sector, he brings extensive knowledge of the Danish and European energy markets. Claus enjoys outdoor activities like biking and hiking and is looking forward to being part of the green transition.   Meet Elena N. Our Senior Coordinator, Documentation. Elena manages Nordic Solar’s documentation, support colleagues with document management, and educate on best practices. With diverse experience in administrative, data analytical and customer support roles, she brings valuable knowledge to our team. Originally from Ukraine, Elena loves travelling, biking and painting. Fun fact: She speaks four languages fluently: Ukrainian, Russian, Polish, and English.   Meet Inês Lupi Caetano. We’re pleased to introduce Inês, our new Head of Operational Asset Management. Inês ensures that all our assets are compliant and performing optimally. Inês is an environmental engineer with a passion for sustainability, she has experience in biogas R&D, renewable energy project development, and sustainability management. Outside of work, Inês plays beach volleyball, enjoying the sport both for fun and competitively.   Meet Sirak Askale. Our new Development Associate in the Corporate Finance and Development department. Sirak focuses on the development phase of our solar parks, particularly our expanding Italian portfolio. Previously, he worked as a Business Developer at the United Nations on PV projects. Outside the office, Sirak enjoys concerts, hiking, and practicing his guitar skills.   Meet Claus Kirk Laursen. Our new Head of Group Reporting. Among other things, Claus oversees the quarterly and annual reporting process, manages consolidation, and ensures IFRS compliance. With over 13 years as an auditor and eight years in the renewable sector, he brings extensive experience in finance, tax, and ESG. Claus is committed to developing scalable processes for global growth and ensuring compliance across all three areas.   We hope you have all had a great first month! 🌞

🌍 Energiomställningen är i full gång. Men behöver gå snabbare. För att möta klimatmålen. För vår planets och för kommande generationers skull. ☀️ Solkraft det förnybara energislag som kan byggas ut snabbast. Själva byggprocessen tar mindre än ett år. Men utbyggnaden saktas ner av nätanslutnings- och tillståndsprocesser. Idag väntar nära 400 anläggningar om tillsammans 12 TWh på tillstånd. Det är en kö motsvarande el till 2,5 miljoner hushåll(!!) 🤝 Tillsammans med branschkollegor inom Nätverket för solparker står Nordic Solar A/S bakom fyra konkreta förslag på hur miljöprövningen av solparker bör förändras för en tydligare och mer förutsägbar tillståndsprocess. 🌞 New credit agreement between Nordic Solar and Jyske Bank supporting energised Højby solar park 🌞   Nordic Solar and Jyske Bank have signed a three-digit million credit agreement concerning Højby solar park established on Funen in Denmark. Højby solar park was connected to the grid in the summer of 2023 and has since then produced large volumes of power. The solar park has a generation capacity of 32 MWp, which corresponds to the electricity consumption of 11,000 European households. The credit agreement is not only a seal of approval for the completed Højby project, which today is a fully operational renewable energy facility contributing to more solar power in the electricity grid. The credit agreement, which will be effective for as long as 20-year agreement, also reflects the importance of effective cooperation and tailored credit agreements between banks and energy project developers if we want to power up the green transition. 💚   "We are extremely pleased to have reached an agreement on long-term financing following a constructive and useful dialogue with Jyske Bank throughout the process. Our successful collaboration with Jyske Bank is an important step towards boosting the production of solar energy while also demonstrating that the funding of energy infrastructure projects is a significant part of the green transition." says Holger Bang, Chief Investment Officer at Nordic Solar.   Claus Simonsen, Director of Renewable Energy at Jyske Bank, says, "We have had a great collaboration with Nordic Solar in finding the right financing solution for the park. They have succeeded in securing a large part of the park's future production volume through a PPA. As this has provided us with extra comfort in relation to the business case, we’ve been able to offer an advantageous credit agreement. Jyske Bank has great ambitions of contributing to the green transition, and the financing of this plant is another step towards our goal of supporting 5 TWh by 2025."   Four power purchase agreements, PPAs, have been concluded with Danish enterprises for Højby solar park, each of which covers an agreement to purchase a portion of the electricity over a period of up to 11 years. Højby solar park has been designed and established with a focus on promoting biodiversity in the area and uses a tracker system allowing the solar panels to move with the rays of the sun thus optimising energy production. ⚡

Meet our new Trading & PPA Director, Claus! ⚡🌞   With our increased strategic focus on PPAs (Power Purchase Agreements), we are happy to welcome Claus Hartmann, who started his new role as Trading and PPA Director last month!   Claus brings over 35 years of experience in the European energy sector, having worked at Ørsted (formerly DONG Energy), Forsyning Helsingør, as a consultant, and most recently for a renewable developer. His comprehensive knowledge of the Danish and European energy markets (oil, gas, power, and renewables) and his expertise in trade, commercial contracts (e.g., PPAs) and sales make him a valuable and strong addition to our team. PPAs play a crucial role in promoting the energy transition by facilitating the further development of solar parks which require significant investment. Through PPAs, we can make more long-term investments and contribute with more renewable energy to the European energy market 🌞   "By entering a PPA and renewable energy directly from a new solar park, companies will show the world they participate directly in the energy transition. EU TAXONOMY READY - we reached a MILESTONE today 🎉 I'm extra proud of my team today. For the past six months, we have been working intensively on being able to align our portfolio with the EU taxonomy and today, we can proudly present a third-party validation from Position Green of our processes and results along with mechanisms to ensure a high degree of EU taxonomy alignment. Today’s validation statement confirms to our board Vibeke Bak Solok, Christian Dulong Hoff, Christian Sagild, colleagues, partners and stakeholders that Nordic Solar A/S operates in accordance with the taxonomy requirement framework. The work to align our entire portfolio continues, but we have the processes in place and the direction is clear. Within the next months, we will transform our high eligibility into high alignment. ☀ Why are we doing this when we don't need to be compliant until the 2026 financial statements? Because it strengthens our business. The taxonomy gives us a framework to dive deep into the green technology paradox that is producing solar energy. In this process, we have been obligated to take a deep look and study ourselves in terms of how we work and how we document. ☀ By aligning our processes, we have: • Mitigated risks as EU Taxonomy alignment requires strict due diligence measures which decreases risks of ESG-related issues. • Formalized and documented processes, enhancing transparency and credibility with our colleagues and stakeholders. • Improved preparedness for future regulatory changes, allowing for swift adaptation (e.g., CS3D). • Gained a deeper understanding of Nordic Solar by exploring every corner, ensuring our practices do not harm other environmental objectives, which helps secure long-term sustainability. • Strengthened collaboration across Nordic Solar, requiring input from all parts of Nordic Solar to comply with the legislation framework. We had a fantastic time attending Intersolar 2024! 🌞   The event was full of opportunities for us to engage with our solar peers and had a series of highly productive meetings with both new and existing suppliers, allowing us to strengthen partnerships and explore new solutions. Nordic Solar A/S had representatives from all aspects of our business. Here's a glimpse into our EPC & Operations teams' experience.   Despite a packed schedule filled with back-to-back meetings and insightful sessions, they managed to keep their energy levels high with some quick sandwich breaks 🥪 Great job Vivian, Tayfun, Volkan, Marta, Matthias and Anton!   We're looking forward to leveraging the connections and insights gained during the event!
