Research and teaching on the development and implementation of digital technologies for an improved learning experience

LearnT - Center for Digital Learning Technology is part of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). LearnT conducts collaborative research and teaching beyond DTU's borders with educational institutions, industry, and government and non-government organizations on the development and implementation of digital technologies for learning activities. LearnT is placed together with strong research environments within UX & usability, statistics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, the internet of things and software development. In learnT, we work with learning analytics, educational data mining, learning design, learning theories, playful learning and ethics, as these areas are highly relevant to understanding learning and developing effective, motivational and fun learning technology. LearnT and DTU Compute’s technological starting point enables our students not only to design and improve concepts but also to create future learning technology based on their technical knowledge and ability. LearnT e.g. researches on how we combine virtual learning opportunities with the learning processes that best occur in the physical world, both between students, between students and teachers and in more informal learning environments. To promote the combination of research-based knowledge and the development of innovative learning technology, learnT has collaborated with a wide range of companies, both broadly and specifically within EdTech. We prioritise the guidance of student projects in cooperation with real-world companies. The co-workers are a mix of internationally renowned scientists and young talents from different scientific communities around DTU Compute and DTU. The research center educates tomorrow’s scientists and engineers in the field of learning technology and the education and training of MSc and Ph.D. students are important parts of the activities.

On average, Danish universities are going to admit 10 percent fewer students making a gradual decrease during 2025-2029. "According to the Ministry of Education and Research, the purpose is to encourage more young people to apply for major welfare programmes such as early childhood education or nursing, to address the shortage of skilled professionals." "At DTU, there will be a specific cut of 6.5 percent in the admission of new students. Introduction to two portable video-conferencing toolkits containing additional hardware for conducting hybrid or online teaching from any indoor facility including labs and any outdoor environment with electricity and Internet access. For writing and annotating using pen tablet (Wacom or alike) use the software Xournal https://lnkd.in/dDhxutJ6 (Free) as an alternative to the relatively expensive Remarkable. LearnT DTU is currently leading Erasmus KA2 Cooperation partnerships for higher education project titled EdViCon (https://lnkd.in/dK8Mdv9v). One of the recent output is a paper based on empirical study conducted at University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh. One behalf of the authors (Nafees Mansoor, PhD, Anatte Rozario, Muhammad Golam Kibria, PhD, SMIEEE, and Md.
