A valuable project where experts collect data to contribute to a study on the behavior etc. of the animals living near the platforms.
🐟 Biodiversity research trip to the Danish North Sea 🐟 A team of researchers from DHI and TotalEnergies have set sail to collect data near the Danish Underground Consortium’s (DUC) offshore installations. The team will pick up the underwater sensors at our Skjold field, which were placed last summer with DTU Offshore - Danish Offshore Technology Centre, DTU Aqua and Institut for Ecoscience - Aarhus Universitet. Furthermore new sensors will be placed near other DUC fields. The data collected will contribute to a study on the behavior of cod, other fish, and marine mammals like harbor porpoises around our platforms, providing insights into their role as feeding and spawning areas. The findings will be shared on the new North Sea Environment Portal, which will be launched later this year. The portal will offer access to decades of data on environmental and biodiversity trends in the North Sea, aiding the creation of effective marine protection strategies. 🔹 Read more about the biodiversity study here: https://lnkd.in/dDt8iURU
