Check out the highlights from the dismantling of our 63-meter-high chimney At Ege Carpets, we’ve transitioned from gas to electricity in our production. This transition means that our large chimney has become redundant, and it was therefore removed Tuesday morning. By switching from gas to electricity, we are taking a crucial step towards more sustainable production. This change contributes to a significant reduction of our annual CO2 emissions by nearly 1500 tons - equivalent to 40 percent of our total emissions. Although the chimney has been removed, its remnants live on with a new purpose. The materials are being reused for art installations, so the chimney remains a part of Ege Carpets' history in a new and creative way. #EgeCarpets #Sustainability #Innovation #GreenTransition #Environment

Ege Carpets’ ESG report 2023/2024 is now published! And here’s one of the highlights: In 2023/2024, we’ve expanded our 100% wool product range, which contrasts with the industry standard of 80% wool/20% nylon. Specifying carpet crafted from 100% wool, which is a renewable and natural material, reduces the consumption of virgin plastic materials without compromising on quality or aesthetics in any way. Ege Carpets’ ESG report 2023/2024 is out! We’re beyond excited to share, that our brand new ESG report is now published. From the report, you’ll learn how Ege Carpets have joined the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and thus, based on our benchmark emissions in 2019, have committed to reduce Scope 1 and 2 CO2 emissions by 50.6% by 2030. By investing heavily in switching from natural gas to electricity, we’ll reduce production-related CO2 emissions by more than 40%.
