Green Carpet 2024🍀 Yesterday, we hosted our annual Green Carpet event, welcoming 90 stakeholders, partners, financial advisors, and colleagues from across the globe🌏 The event began with a presentation of our annual results, highlighting achievements from the past year, plans for the coming year, and a discussion on the macro trends influencing our industry and how we aim to navigate these dynamics. This year, we were honoured to be joined by not one but three guest speakers. Kicking things off was Janda Campos, independent sustainability and ESG advisor, who delivered insights on sustainability legislation and best practices on actions in her presentation. Next, Lise Christiansen Walbom, CEO of Food Nation, presented a business case on regenerative agriculture in Denmark, based on an interesting new report from 2024. Lastly, Jean Sebastian Leite, Senior Director at Rabobank, shared his perspective on sustainable finance for agriculture. The official part of the event concluded with a panel interview featuring our three speakers, joined by Søren and Christian, for an engaging discussion on the future of sustainability at DLF🌱 The evening concluded with a lovely dinner for all attendees. We have achieved our strategic goals for 2023/24🌱   With a revenue of DKK 8.2 billion and an EBIT of DKK 433 million in the 2023/24 financial year, we presented results that align with expectations at today's Annual General Meeting in Nyborg.   Our CEO, Søren Halbye, expressed satisfaction with the performance in this challenging year: "We have delivered strong operating earnings; however, rising financial costs have impacted our post-tax results. DLF stands on a solid financial foundation with a well-balanced geographic and business presence, supported by dedicated employees worldwide. Our fully integrated value chain across Europe, North and South America, and Oceania enables us to capitalize on local business opportunities, providing a robust basis for further development. We have also acquired Corteva’s alfalfa breeding program and entered into a joint venture with Groupe Florimond Desprez regarding our sugar beet seed activities. We are proud to share that our Group CEO, Søren Halbye, has been appointed as the new President of Euroseeds association. This appointment comes at a critical time for the seeds and wider agricultural industry. In his acceptance speech, Søren expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in him by Euroseeds and its members. “It is a true honour to lead this organization at a time when the agricultural landscape is shifting dramatically. The role we play in advocating for the European seed sector has never been more important,” he stated. Søren is committed to address challenges such as climate change, political and regulatory hurdles, and the need for sustainable agricultural practices as well as engage proactively with European decision-makers to advocate for regulations that facilitate innovation and assist the industry in adapting to the changing environment – such as NGT and PRM. He will do so through inclusive dialogue, uniting diverse interests, and leveraging collective. We are confident that his leadership will enhance the sector’s level of collaboration and innovation. Store Frødag 2024 🌱 On September 19th, nearly 1,000 participants gathered at Gjorslev Gods for the third Store Frødag, exploring the latest innovations in seed cultivation. DLF was proud to be one of the main companies participating, with expert talks, live demonstrations, and plenty of networking.
