  • If your cruise guests are asking for climate-friendly and green tours and activities, then watch this! 👀🔊   In collaboration with various partners, Wonderful Copenhagen has launched an innovative initiative called CopenPay. This groundbreaking concept aims to encourage sustainable tourism by allowing visitors, including cruise passengers, to pay for cultural experiences with climate-friendly actions.   👉 How does CopenPay work?  Visitors in Copenhagen can earn rewards by engaging in green activities such as cycling, participating in cleanup efforts, or volunteering at urban farms. These actions can be redeemed for enriching experiences like complimentary guided museum tours, free kayak rentals, and even a free vegetarian lunch made from local crops.   👉 Why CopenPay?  Data shows that while 82% of tourists express a desire to act sustainably, only 22% have changed their behavior. CopenPay bridges this gap by incentivizing conscious green choices, making sustainable actions more rewarding and enjoyable for cruise passengers.   Examples of CopenPay in action: 🚮 Arriving at the National Gallery of Denmark with plastic waste grants access to a workshop to turn it into art. 🚲Taking public transport or biking to Copenhagen’s iconic heating plant allows visitors to ski down its slope on the building’s roof.   This summer, all visitors are invited to partake in CopenPay, with over 20 attractions participating. Let’s turn tourism into a force for positive change!   For more information, visit https://lnkd.in/d6C9FV33   #SustainableTourism #CopenPay #WonderfulCopenhagen #CruiseTourism

  • 🚢🔍Welcome Solve a Mystery, to Cruise Denmark - Copenhagen and beyond! 🌍 We are pleased to announce that Solve A Mystery, a company specializing in self-guided, true crime-inspired city walks, has joined our network.   Solve a Mystery combines the thrill of solving a mystery with sightseeing. Unlike other digital self-guided walking tours, Solve a Mystery uses physical papers, where you collect an envelope, with everything you need, from various locations near popular attractions where the mystery begins. This offline approach provides an engaging and tangible experience, perfect for those looking to disconnect from their devices and dive into the city's secrets.   Rasmus Munch, CEO and founder of Solve a Mystery, shared his thoughts: "We chose to become part of Cruise Denmark - Copenhagen and beyond because they are a great facilitator of contact between suppliers like us and the cruise lines, making communication streamlined, direct, and relevant."   Rasmus Munch added, "We want to deliver self-guided mystery experiences to the cruise lines' passengers both on land and customized versions on the ships to match the history and features of each ship."   We look forward to our collaboration and are excited to see what cruise ship mysteries might be uncovered in the process!   #citywalk #truecrime #cruisemysteries #cruisedenmark

  • FINALE IN BORNHOLM 🚴♀️🍓 Our FAM-Trip concluded with a memorable visit to the beautiful island of Bornholm. After a short flight to Rønne Airport, we were warmly welcomed by our island hosts, Yana Grundke from Port of Roenne A/S and Torsten Engsig from Destination Bornholm. They took us to the stunning Hotel Nordlandet, where we enjoyed a delightful dinner with an incredible view and a breathtaking sunset. Refreshed and ready, we started our island adventure the next morning by visiting the medieval ruins of Hammershus, the largest fortress ruin in northern Europe. The tour was fascinating, filled with intriguing stories, and complemented by a tasting of local mead. Next, we visited Østerlars Church, the largest of Bornholm's iconic four round churches. We continued to Svaneke, where we had lunch at a smokery and tried the iconic dish Sol over Gudhjem—smoked herring topped with egg yolk. A short walk through the charming town of Svaneke set the stage for an afternoon of arts and crafts. We began with a visit to a glassblowing studio, followed by a trip to a ceramic museum and workshop. To wrap up our Bornholm experience, we visited the port and cruise pier, where we enjoyed local gin & tonic and treats while being serenaded by an accordion. A huge thank you to our wonderful hosts in Bornholm. Our FAM-Trip across six beautiful cruise destinations in Denmark has been an incredible journey filled with rich experiences, new friends, and a deep appreciation for our beautiful country. Time to head home, but the memories will last a lifetime! #FAMTrip #Bornholm #ExploreDenmark

  • FAM-TRIP DAY 5: WINE AND VIKINGS IN KALUNDBORG After bidding farewell to Odense, our journey continued with two incredible stops before reaching Kalundborg. First, we explored Trelleborg, a Viking Fortress from 980 AD, recently designated as a UNESCO heritage site. Here, we were warmly received by Michael Larsen from Kalundborg Havn and Louise Damgaard Terkildsen from Destination Sjælland. Next, we visited Kragerup Manor, a historic estate turned hotel, conference center, and activity park. After a delightful dinner, we enjoyed a restful night. The morning tour of the estate revealed a range of activities, from tree trampolining, climbing, and ziplining to footgolfing and hosting events like meetings, conferences, weddings, and celebrations. Upon reaching Kalundborg, we were shown the two cruise piers and enjoyed a walk through the medieval city. Our adventure continued on the peninsula of Røsnæs, where we visited Dyrehøj Vineyard. Here, we savored Danish-produced wines, filling our suitcases with delicious liquids. A scenic tour around the peninsula provided stunning views. A heartfelt thanks for an amazing time in Kalundborg. Bornholm, here we come! 🚍✨ #FAMTrip #Kalundborg #Vikings #WineTasting #cruisedenmark

  • FAM-Trip Day 4: The historic town of Fredericia, where history and charm blend seamlessly. We arrived at Hotel Postgården and were greeted by Lone Østergaard from VisitFredericia with a few snacks. She and a local guide then took us on a delightful walking tour around Fredericia, rich with history. Our evening concluded with a lovely dinner with our other host, Niels Christiansen from ADP - Associated Danish Ports A/S, before we turned in for the night. The morning started uniquely with a ride on a small electric train to the cruise pier, where we were welcomed with a cannon salute, just as cruise guests are. We then visited Koldinghus, part of Kongernes Samling. Our guide described it as not just a castle but a playground of royal history. Here, we enjoyed a delicious Danish lunch buffet. Next, we drove to Odense, Denmark's third-largest city on the island of Funen. We visited the house and museum of the famous Danish fairytale writer H.C. Andersen, known for "The Little Mermaid" and many other tales. The immersive exhibition about his life and stories was truly enchanting. We wrapped up our day with Lone showing us around her hometown of Odense, a haven for bikers and walkers with a blend of old and new architecture and beautiful recreational areas. It was a fantastic visit. A huge thanks to our wonderful hosts in Fredericia and Odense. Now, we're off to Kalundborg! 🚍✨ #FAMTrip #CruiseDenmark #Fredericia

  • FAM-TRIP DAY 3 🚢 Day 3 of our Danish adventure brought us to the vibrant city of Aarhus, where we experienced a perfect blend of modernity and history. We arrived at Atlantic Hotel Aarhus, warmly welcomed by our hosts Astrid Hundrup Rasmussen, from VisitAarhus and Morten Kusk, Aarhus Havn - Port of Aarhus. Dinner at The Open Kitchen, a new steak and fish restaurant, was a delightful start to our visit. After a restful night at the hotel, we enjoyed breakfast with a stunning view over Aarhus, ready to explore the city. Our day began at the cruise pier, where we saw the impressive shore power system and learned about the incredible volunteers from Rethinkers who welcome guests. Colleagues from Port of Aarhus then took us by boat to the new attraction, The Eye of Aarhus. We were greeted and given a quick overview of their exhibition on the Aarhus bay area. The 142-meter tall building offered breathtaking views of the city from the top. Next, we enjoyed a harbor cruise with savoring lunch while sailing around the bay. We then went on a walking tour around the city center, tracing the footsteps of the Vikings of Aros, the ancient name of Aarhus. Our historical journey continued at the Old Town open-air museum, where we learned about Denmark and Aarhus's history from 1864 to 2014. Our day concluded at the ARoS Art Museum, where we admired the city through the stunning rainbow art piece atop the building. It was a colorful and fitting end to a day filled with exploration and discovery. Thanks to our wonderful hosts, and now we're off to our next stop: Fredericia! • FAM-TRIP MODE CONTINUES 🚴♀️🍓 Day 2 of our Danish adventure took us to the enchanting town of Skagen, where nature, history, and art converged for an unforgettable experience 🌊 We began with dinner at Skagen Fiskerestaurant, savoring the freshest fish. The cozy Color Hotel Skagen provided a restful night before our exciting day ahead. The morning started at the cruise pier and tourist information center, learning about the welcoming facilities for cruise guests. A short drive brought us to the Sandburied Church, a site partially engulfed in sand. Next, we took the Sandworm Tractor to Grenen, Denmark's northernmost point, where we saw two seas meet. The Skagen Bunker Museum enlightened us on the 8,000 WWII bunkers along Denmark’s west coast. A brave few climbed the 210 steps of the Grey Lighthouse for stunning views. Lunch at Brøndums Hotel connected us to the Skagen Painters colony. At the Skagen Art Museum, our guide, Hanne, passionately shared her interpretations of the Skagen Painters’ works, offering a fresh perspective on art. Before leaving Skagen, we enjoyed Danish pastries and explored The Engine Room, a new attraction filled with mechanical wonders.
