We would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to this year’s jury members of ASEAN Startup Awards, who have used their industry knowledge and expertise to rate and assess our Southeast Asia finalists in the process of finding our winners. 🏆 Meet Thuzar Win, Executive Director, Board Member, and Consultant guiding organizations to growth and sustainability! 🌱💼 Thuzar Win is a seasoned Business Development professional with over twenty years of experience. Her expertise spans financial control and management, HR & Admin development, Sales and Marketing, and professional development. Trained by IFC in Corporate Governance initiatives for Myanmar, she has enhanced her skills in corporate governance since 2015. Thuzar has collaborated with MIOD to facilitate director certification programs and governance trainings. As a dedicated woman executive, Thuzar has made significant contributions to women's development, capacity enhancement for the SME business community, and the creation of women's networks across regions. Her roles with UMFCCI, MYANWEN, and YEN-D associations underscore her commitment to these causes. Currently serving as an Independent Director at Early Dawn Microfinance Company Ltd. Thuzar aligns management practices with board expectations to ensure compliance with legal requirements and represent shareholders’ interests. She also works as an Independent Consultant with DAI on an SME development project funded by USAID. This project aims to strengthen SMEs' capacity in corporate governance to better seize business opportunities. Thank you, Thuzar Win, for your outstanding leadership and contributions. Your expertise and insights have been invaluable in selecting and supporting the most promising startups and founders. A special mention goes to Carl Hinrichsen, who built Meta’s global Channel Sales program for digital advertising from the ground up, scaling it across 40 countries. Carl’s entrepreneurial leadership within Meta, and his extensive experience in direct sales, product partnerships, and business development, have been instrumental in guiding our selection process. He has shared his expertise in product and e-commerce, having been among Amazon’s original Kindle team members in Europe, launching Kindle e-readers in southern Europe and building the accessories marketplace. His teams’ global reach and expertise in driving partner selection, enablement, service, infrastructure, risk, and compliance have been pivotal. Carl is committed to building partnership ecosystems and actively supporting startups and founders in expanding their success internationally. Carl’s charisma and vision empower his clients, teams and partners to achieve excellence. His commitment to developing effective managers, experts, and change-makers has set a high standard for our competition. Additionally, Carl’s ties to Southern Europe and his recent contributions to the ecosystem have greatly enriched our competition. He actively supports startups in expanding internationally, including an AI-powered language learning startup and a digital media startup with founders in Portugal. Carl’s connections to Barcelona, where he studied at ESADE Business School and worked with local NGOs and startups, highlight his deep engagement with the region’s vibrant startup community.
