A.P. Moller Capital is happy to announce that its 2023 Annual ESG Report is now available online.   At A.P. Moller Capital, we continued our focus on tackling global warming, addressing the issue of food poverty, and reducing supply chain disruptions, thereby generating value for our investors. At the heart of our efforts is our belief that mobilizing private capital in growth markets is central to delivering on the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and on global climate goals, at the necessary scale. Furthermore, the contribution of our portfolio to the national GDP and employment in our countries of operation is essential to our own measure of success.   For 2023, we are proud to have supported USD 1,332m in GDP contributions and 156,000 direct and indirect jobs in the communities where we operate. Of the 156,053 jobs supported, 21% represent female workers, 16,053 represent direct jobs in the portfolio companies as well as 95,000 jobs in their supply chains and 45,000 induced jobs. Our strategy for climate impact remained to avoid GHG emissions by prioritizing renewable energy and, where this was not possible, reduce GHG emissions. While meeting our environmental and social targets is critical, we must also redouble our focus on health and safety across our portfolio. This includes reviewing health, safety, and security processes and benchmarking these against international best practices. As a company, we continue to believe it is important for us to proactively identify opportunities to create positive social impact and to use our influence on portfolio company boards to continually push to improve ESG performance, and we welcome this year’s results and learnings.   For more information, please download the report on our website. #apmollercapital #doingwellwhiledoinggood #privatecapitalforthepublicgood

Last week, Managing Partner and CEO of A.P. Moller Capital, Kim Fejfer, had the pleasure of participating on a panel discussion at McKinsey & Company’s 2024 Global Infrastructure Initiative Summit on scaling lower carbon infrastructure. Kim tapped into his transport and logistics experience to provide his input on the need to decarbonize hard-to-abate sectors given our focus on critical infrastructure investments aimed at tackling food poverty, supply chain disruptions and global warming. A thoughtful and insightful conversation took place alongside fellow panellists Laurent Germain from Egis and Cindy Lim from Keppel Infrastructure Holdings and moderator Daniel Pacthod from McKinsey & Company, with all providing their different viewpoints. Thank you to McKinsey for organizing a great event. #apmollercapital #doingwellwhiledoinggood #privatecapitalforthepublicgood

A.P. Moller Capital is pleased to announce a new CEO, Keith Glenn Pienaar, for Vector Logistics. A fund managed by A.P. Moller Capital acquired Vector Logistics from RCL FOODS in August 2023. Keith brings a wealth of experience, having served as CEO and Director for both DSV Africa and UTi Worldwide. His primary roles included establishing and leading executive teams, executing mergers and acquisitions, and establishing partnerships with customers and other stakeholders. With the hire of Keith, the business is well-positioned to accelerate Vector Logistics’ mission of “Going Beyond” in supply chain expertise and logistics services and handle expansion opportunities to meet the growing demand for cold storage logistics in Southern Africa. Keith will assume the role from the outgoing CEO, Chris Creed, who will retire after serving 17 years in the position. Joe Nicklaus Nielsen, Partner, said “We are thrilled to welcome Keith as the new head of Vector Logistics. The company has grown significantly over the past 18 years, and we believe that under Keith’s leadership capitalizing on his previous experience in the region, the company will continue to provide a world-class service and market leading solutions to its customers. A.P. Moller Capital is pleased to announce that it has strengthened its strategic commitment to Morocco with the hiring of additional local representatives to lead investment efforts in the country. Our focus on growth markets which benefit from macroeconomic tailwinds driven by demographics, nearshoring trends, trade patterns and the green transition, continue to make Morocco an attractive source for new investments. We are no strangers to investing in the country, our first investment was made in 2020, and second in 2023, allowing us to contribute to the local economy by “doing well while doing good” via job creation and GDP growth. As part of the A.P. Moller Group, which has a long history in Morocco, we will continue to draw on our network, experience, and boots on the ground presence, to accelerate our investment making capabilities in warehousing, cold storage, ports, airport operations, energy efficiency and green fuels, amongst others. Our growing team of local representatives, including the recent hire of Ghislane Guédira Bennouna, will be supported by the broader A.P. Moller Capital team.
