BOOST YOUR MARGINS BY PRODUCING PETFOOD LOCALLY Reduce your logistics costs You might have to prepay orders when importing pet food; hence the long transport times result in long periods of the cash being fixed in products that are not yet available to sell – a strain on the cash flow and a potential restriction on growth. Logistic costs are on the rise – shorter transport and thereby lower transport costs can boost the profitability for all parties in the value chain while remaining price competitive on the shelf. Avoid customs and foreign production costs The customs rates can be significant, and further costs can be added if delays in customs accure. No currency exchange rate losses Import adds currency dependence to the costing and thereby the profitability of the pet food. By producing locally and buying and selling in the same currency, this risk is eliminated. Hence the recommended retail price can be stabilized. Cheaper delivery costs to neighboring markets Shipping goods to closer markets will increase the profit margins without the large expenses of long-distance logistics. Ensuring ongoing availability When producing locally, it is possible to ensure ongoing supplies to the shops and avoid empty shelves. Ongoing availability can boost sales growth. #petfood #petindustry #petcare #petfoodindustry #agriculture #dogfood #catfood
