At #ClimateWeekNYC, Thursday was a closing for some - but expanded relationships for all. Our team enjoyed the closing day of IETA’s North American Climate Summit, alongside final meetings and interviews with the nature, climate and agrifood community. The Land & Carbon Lab reception was a remarkable occasion in the shadow of the Empire State Building. Thanks to the Bezos Earth Fund and World Resources Institute for inviting Agreena, uniting us further with key actors in the market to discuss everything from data and water metrics to standards and community engagement. The big finale was the closing Nightcap for Nature — a celebration of the connections made throughout the week, the ideas sparked, and most importantly, the shared appreciation for nature. The evening was centered around a core theme: highlighting the critical importance of nature and the diverse ways we can protect it, particularly through the power of capital and culture. It was the perfect way to end our last evening on a nature-positive note. Thanks go to the co-hosts: Ethic, Nature2, Superorganism and Spotify. Before heading into the weekend, in the morning we proudly joined together with our collaborative competitors of the International Soil Carbon Industry Alliance (ISCIA). Delegates remaining in the city sat down to have a coffee and relax in the park, touching base on key takeaways and insights from Climate Week NYC. Together, we’re working in unity to transform agrifood systems and scale carbon sequestration globally. Thank you Climate Group and everyone who put tireless work into making this week the event it was. A special shoutout to our on-the-ground delegation, Simon Haldrup, Frederik Aagaard, Michael Bertelsen, Emilio Torres and Erica Johnson, for maintaining your passion throughout the long days, and to all of our partners, hosts, and teams around the world driving progress to act on nature and climate. #ClimateAction #UNGA79 #SustainabilitySummit2024 #RegenerativeAgriculture #FoodSystems #CarbonFarming

As this year’s official theme, ‘time’ is of the essence not just at #ClimateWeekNYC, but in the global urgency for nature climate action. Our Wednesday was robust in bringing together leading actors in the VCM and agri-food ecosystem. We kicked off our day by hosting an exclusive breakfast with BeZero Carbon, giving leading corporates and financiers in the voluntary carbon market a moment to take a breath from panel dialogues and conferences, and learn from each other. Joining structured 'carbon clinic' roundtables, market experts came together under the Empire State Building to discuss and dig into key issues of the VCM, structuring portfolios, US commodities, and lessons learned. Thank you to Louisa O'Connell and the entire BeZero team for a fantastic collaboration. In the afternoon we were honoured to be a part of the Scope 3 and Net Zero Value Chain event of the year hosted by SustainCERT. Co-sponsored by Agreena, Simon, Frederik and Erica attended the event bringing together the experts of leading standard leaders, including Pankaj Bhatia Global Director of Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG Protocol) at World Resources Institute, Alberto Carrillo Pineda, CTO of Science Based Targets initiative, and Verra's new CEO Mandy Rambharos, moderated by SustainCERT's CEO Marion Verles. At the event, Verra and SustainCERT's VCI announced their new partnership - very exciting news! Corporate leaders in sustainability and regenerative agriculture, including Maia Reed of Mars, Danone's Ryan Smith and Hanne Sondergaard of Arla Foods, provided real-world perspectives into unlocking Scope 3 decarbonisation. Elsewhere, IETA's North America Climate Summit continued for its second day, attended by Michael, Emilio and Fred, while our whole team closed out the day with a bang at its much-anticipated Nightcap party, celebrating its 25th anniversary. Our team have continued to be motivated by the passionate conversations and shared sense of momentum to scale the positive impact of regenerative agriculture on our planet. The event may be nearing its end, but the connections and ideas sparked throughout the week are only just beginning. https://agreena.cc/3Y2aGBt #RegenerativeAgriculture #ClimateAction #CarbonRemovals

Our mission of scaling the regenerative movement is not slowing down… and neither is #ClimateWeekNYC! Amidst meetings and events across the city, Tuesday was particularly special in having our CEO Simon Haldrup participating in the Climate Group's Executive Series at the Hub Live. This exclusive roundtable 'Taking a byte out of carbon: How to use AI to accelerate decarbonisation', in partnership with PwC, brought together global climate heads discussing the use of AI to help corporates meet climate goals. Agreena was brought in highlighting our scalable approach leveraging remote sensing and digital measurement, reporting and verification (MRV) technology - AI supporting our regen ag impact at scale. It was also the kickoff off the three-day IETA North America Climate Summit, where Michael Bertelsen, Erica Johnson and Emilio Torres are on the ground! Yesterday was also the 'Food and Agriculture' focus day of the Consulate General of Denmark In New York's Sustainability Summit NYC in conjunction with Danish regen ag powerhouses Arla Foods and Carlsberg Group Erica participated in Arla's epic roundtable dialogues with global leaders to share key insights and collaborate on agrifood system transformation - but most of all: farmers. CCO Frederik Aagaard closed out the evening at a beautiful reception, and was particularly inspired by Danish Minister of Foreign Affairs Lars Løkke Rasmussen’s speech on regen ag's role in Denmark's GHG reduction plans towards 2050, while Food Nation Denmark rolled out its '5 pathways to accelerate green food production'. To round off the night, Simon attended StepStone Group and Giant Ventures Climate Dinner, with dialogues focused on scale, while others from the team joined BeZero Carbon and Rubicon Carbon's happy hour, and EcoAct / Schneider Electric’s event on Navigating the VCM with ensured integrity and maximised ROI. And that’s all just in one day! Thank you so much to all of the hosts, partners, and teams around the city who are incorporating us into your programming and agenda. Our team are tireless in their determination to make meaningful change for our planet - not just this week, but every week. Amazing work, all. 🌱 #RegenerativeAgriculture #ClimateAction #CarbonRemovals #SustainabilitySummit2024 #ClimateWeek #FoodSystems #UNGA79

Monday of #ClimateWeekNYC was packed full of meaningful conversations around accelerating climate action, right from 8-1am. 🌎 Our CCO, Frederik Aagaard, kicked things off at a breakfast with the Consulate General of Denmark In New York, exploring the urgency of advancing sustainable value chains. Simon Haldrup, our CEO, spent the day at the WBCSD Council Day amongst global leaders and took a break for Flowcarbon's CarbonSmart Summit, joining a panel examining ‘The rising significance of carbon removal in carbon markets’, alongside Anew Climate, Capture6 and Puro.earth. After a full schedule of meetings, introductions and networking, the night ended with an Agreena Opening Nightcap rooftop party at HowGood and EIT Food’s REGEN House. Our team have been encouraged to hear so many companies’ aims to decarbonise value chains through field-level third party verified data. Monitoring, reporting and verification (MRV) technology is already emerging as a key topic of the week, with Agreena’s transparency and integrity in delivering both Scope 3 reductions and beyond value chain mitigation (BVCM) credits continuing to stand out. And in case you missed it in person, everyone’s favourite first day takeaway came from Fred’s opening remarks… ‘The first, authentic, original direct air capture is soil’. https://agreena.cc/4gDukfu #RegenerativeAgriculture #ClimateAction #CarbonRemovals Erica Johnson Michael Bertelsen Emilio Torres Climate Group

Scaling regenerative agriculture requires collaboration and innovation. AXA Climate have joined forces with us to explore how to quantify farmers’ risks as they transition to regenerative methods. As Europe's largest soil carbon programme, we speak daily with farmers who recognise the long-term benefits of sustainable farming practices, but are worried about the short-term challenges. We need to come together to reduce these entry barriers. At Agreena, we’ve already begun this process. We provide products and services to the financial sector and agri-supply chain that support farmers and enable better cost-sharing, as well as give companies deep insights into sustainable land use and carbon assets. Now, together with AXA Climate, we’re exploring how we can use data to better understand and quantify the risks that farmers face as they transition. We’re looking to address the concerns of farmers about potential initial yield drops, and ultimately develop risk management tools that make switching to regenerative practices as close to 100% safe as possible.
