My Friends in Aging Research and Fibrotic Diseases, should have a look at this paper (! Link in Comments) and also at the lecture from 9th ARDD in 2022 (!! Link in Comments) by Stuart Cook, Anissa Widjaja and colleagues. It is a very neat work which requires a deeper dive by the many pharma companies and is certainly celebrated by Boehringer Ingelheim, which has the anti-IL-11 antibody for fibrotic diseases (they seem to have missed out on TNIK inhibitors like everyone else but did well in IL11). But the main point of this post is that frontier research in drug discovery and aging research is usually presented at ARDD years before general public sees it in top peer-reviewed journals. This year's ARDD will bring many pharma companies and startups together with top academics. And even my team is preparing something very special and unpublished for presentation. Kudos to Morten Scheibye-Knudsen Daniela Bakula of the Københavns Universitet - University of Copenhagen for their hard volunteer work (it takes 56 weeks to put one ARDD together with weekly calls and coordination of a big team - more than a year as the prep for the next one starts 56 weeks prior). And Evelyne Bischof, MD, PhD, who chairs the Longevity Medicine track. This year, Healthspan XPRIZE headed by Jamie Justice, Ph.D. greatly expanded the ARDD with the introduction of the annual summit and presentations of clinical trial milestones.
