Mission
The mission of the Department of General Services is to build, maintain, and sustain the District of Columbia’s real estate portfolio, which includes more than 35 million square feet of District-owned and leased property and roughly $19.8 billion in assessed District owned property in Washington, DC. This work allows the agency to foster economic viability, environmental stewardship, and equity across all eight (8) wards.

DGS Divisions
DGS is a District of Columbia government agency comprised of more than 700 skilled employees working dynamically through six divisions to create new and manage almost 1000 District-owned and leased property assets across Washington, DC.
