safeFBDC is a funded research project that aims to enable the cross-institutional use of financial market data while preserving individual data sovereignty. The consortium, which has come together under the leadership of TechQuartier, consists of 11 consortium partners and numerous associated partners covering a large part of the German financial industry. Our goal is to create a unique financial data platform that brings flexibility, scalability and robustness to apply the latest research approaches, optimize business processes and develop new, data-driven solutions. In ensuring secure access to currently unavailable financial data, we are able to improve the performance of AI algorithms to solve important issues. Among others, this concerns the impact of climate risks on financial markets, the fight against money laundering and the protection of the integrity of financial markets. Thus, the interest in the successful realization of the safeFBDC is not limited to financial market actors; rather it is intended to serve the greater public good. We see this as a unique opportunity to establish a strong data ecosystem for financial market in Germany. The project will serve as a blueprint for data ecosystems made in Europe and provide valuable contributions to the GAIA-X initiative.

👾 Gestern fand unser letztes Steering Committee statt! So traurig wir auch sind, dass das Projekt sich nun wirklich dem Ende zuneigt, umso toller war es, dass gestern nochmal alle Konsortialpartner im TechQuartier zusammenkamen und ihre großartigen Ergebnisse präsentierten 👏 Und ein Ende ist außerdem noch lange kein Ende: Die Ergebnisse werden selbstverständlich weitergeführt und in spannende weitere Projekte und Umsetzungen integriert. Die Projekte #EuroDaT und safeFBDC sind beide ein wichtiger Teil des Financial Big Data Clusters und die Projektpartner präsentierten letzten Donnerstag ihre spannenden Ergebnisse und Entwicklungen. 🌐 Konferenz-Update: Dr. Carola Theunisz präsentierte erfolgreich ihre Forschung aus dem #safeFBDC-Projekt auf dem FINEST - Financial Intermediation Network of European Studies Autumn Workshop 2023 in Mailand. Weiterführende Kommentare kamen auch von Enrico Sette von der Banca d'Italia. 🍂 Die Herbstwerkstatt es Financial Intermediation Network of European Studies (FINEST) bietet eine Plattform für eingehende Diskussionen über eine begrenzte Anzahl hochwertiger Arbeiten, um den Austausch zwischen Wissenschaftlern, Entscheidungsträgern und Praktikern zu fördern und die sich wandelnden Herausforderungen im Bankensektor zu erörtern. In der Herbstwerkstatt 2023 an der Università degli Studi di Milano wurden fünf vollständige Arbeiten und drei Frühkonzeptvorschläge zur Präsentation angenommen. 🚀 Wir freuen uns sehr, dass Carola vor Ort war und vor der internationalen akademischen Bankszene ihre Forschung aus dem safeFBDC-Projekt präsentiert hat. 👾 Letzte Woche durfte Dr. Carola Theunisz aus dem #safeFBDC-Forschungsbereich zu geldpolitischen Entscheidungen ihre Ergebnisse bei der Oesterreichische Nationalbank in Wien vorstellen. 📈 Ihre Forschung beschäftigt sich mit den Risiken, die die Klimakrise für Banken bringt. Dazu analysierte sie die CO2-Werte amerikanischer Banken im Zusammenhang mit ihren syndizierten Kreditportfolios. Die Ergebnisse zeigen signifikante Unterschiede in den Risikoexpositionen der Banken über die Zeit. Insbesondere seit dem Pariser Abkommen ist ein Rückgang der Expositionen zu verzeichnen. 🎫 Möchtest Du mehr über die Forschung im safeFBDC wissen?
