Any change in the characteristic impedance of an antenna system causes a reflection of forward RF energy, representing a discontinuity. Every connector, every kink or compression in a cable, etc. can produce a more or less significant discontinuity. Rohde & Schwarz is delighted to contribute to certification and field testing efforts, while supporting MCX industry in shaping a safer world.
A week full of discussions and information sharing for TCCA’s Board – chair Mladen Vratonjic, vice chair Tero Pesonen, Tim Clark, Ali Helenius, Nina Myren, Francesco Pasquali, Steve Barber, Cate Walton and Jason Johur - following the quarterly Board meeting held in Berlin, members of the Board were invited guests at the first Bundesanstalt für den Digitalfunk (BDBOS) Innovation Forum which took place yesterday. Open to PPDR network operators worldwide, the Innovation Forum is designed to enable attendees to learn more about the projects funded by the KoPa_45 programme. BDBOS has been granted funds from the programme, made available by the German government in 2020 to help counteract the effect of the pandemic. The funds are aimed at fostering mission-critical technologies. The projects receiving funding from KoPa_45 presented their research and development topics, with members of TCCA’s Board participating in panel discussions with TCCA members Sami Honkaniemi Mentura Group Oy, Robert Froehler Nokia, Jurgen Poels ASTRID (host of TCCA Critical Communications World 2025 in Brussels), Harald Ludwig (chair of our Technical Forum); and Tom Piechotta, Ralf Irmer, Gregor Tomić and Michael Weixler. A keynote presentation was given by TCCA CEO Kevin Graham. Many thanks to TCCA member BDBOS for the invitation and organisation – a very valuable event.
