INCiTiS-FOOD is a EU funded project aiming to create an inclusive food system in African cities and towns.
Info
The INCiTiS-FOOD project will co-create circular agri-food technologies, practices, and business models centering upon soilless crop farming, recirculating aquaculture systems, and insect farming. These circular agri-food technologies have been considered suitable for the context of African cities because they do not require great access to land, water, or other resources allowing Africa to thrive.

🌍 This weekend, we celebrated the International Day of Awareness on Food Loss and Waste Reduction! This year, the spotlight is on the urgent need for financing to boost efforts in cutting food loss and waste. It’s not just about saving food—it's a crucial step toward achieving climate goals and advancing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Food loss and waste threaten the sustainability of our food systems. When food is wasted, so are the precious resources used to produce it: water, land, energy, labour, and capital. 🐛 🐟 🌱At INCiTiS-FOOD, we're driving change with circular technologies and provide support for solution upscaling through our Open Calls. We aim to co-finance the participation of marginalised and vulnerable stakeholders and boost community-driven innovations. Such support is essential for the further development of solutions and for boosting acceptance and development around circular city food systems, especially in Africa. Stay tuned as we plan to launch our first Open Call soon: https://incitis-food.eu/ #FOOD2030EU #HorizonEurope #ResearchImpactEU #FoodLossWaste #INCiTiSFOOD #SustainableFood #CircularEconomy #ClimateAction #2030Agenda #ZeroHunger
