What does the #future of #artificialintelligence look like? 🤔 #AI #scientists and #decisionmakers from #politics, #business and the #mediaindustry came together at #MunichAIDay 2024 to explore this question. With this #event, the Munich Centre for Machine Learning provided a #platform for discussing the potential of AI in various areas. In addition to panels, numerous presentations showcased current developments and innovative solutions relating to #AItechnology. 💬 Science Minister Markus Blume gave an introductory keynote speech and took part in a panel discussion on "The future of AI": "With the Munich AI Day, the Munich Centre for Machine Learning offers an important platform for artificial intelligence. One thing is clear: the biggest risk with AI is not being there. We have decided: We want to shape the key technology of the future ourselves according to our values. This is the only way to achieve technological and economic sovereignty in the future. We are setting the course with our Bavarian AI offensive and the Hightech Agenda: Over 130 additional AI professorships, the establishment of our own AI computing infrastructure, the further development of the TU Nuremberg into an AI university, excellent research institutions as well as enthusiastic companies and start-ups with an AI focus. The MCML is our Bavarian think tank for AI - thank you very much for your important work!" 📸 Axel König #technology #digitalisation #automation #ChatGPT #science #research #robotics #Bavaria #Munich #HouseofCommunication #HightechAgendaBayern #Hightech #university #baiosphere Munich Center for Machine Learning Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München TUM

At the state reception "Welcome to Bavaria", #politics, #science and #business merged into a unique, typically Bavarian ecosystem. People who are helping to shape the #future in #Bavaria came together in the Kaisersaal of the #Munich Residence: #HightechAgendaBavaria #professors, #university and #universityhospital #management as well as representatives from big #techcompanies and #startups. 💪 Before the #keynote speech by #physicist and #NobelPrize winner Ferenc Krausz, Minister President Dr. Markus Söder and Science Minister Markus Blume welcomed around 900 guests. In a panel discussion, the CEOs of the major tech companies answered the question of why they had chosen Bavaria as one of their #location for their company. #Bavaria has created 1,000 HTA #professorships with funding from the #HightechAgenda, 84 percent of which have now been filled. 👍 The event offered the #scientists an ideal setting for #networking and #exchanging ideas. 💬Markus Blume: "With our #HightechAgendaBayern, we have unique framework conditions, are cosmopolitan and a top international address! For us, one thing is clear: progress is a major joint project. That's why we want to be host to the brightest minds and originators of the best ideas. Progress have always been firmly anchored in Bavaria's DNA. Because: Home and high-tech is an unbeatable combination - the concept for a bright future.“ 📸 Axel König baiosphere

The AI base model of the #Bavarian #AI #offensive was one of the central topics at the summer meeting of the AI Council. The AI Council consists of 21 AI experts from #science and #industry who advise the Bavarian state #government on AI issues. The #meeting took place at Helmholtz Munich: Thanks to Fabian Theis for moderating the meeting and Matthias H. Tschöp for providing the location. State Minister Markus Blume from the Bayerisches Staatsministerium für Wissenschaft und Kunst provided the impetus for a fruitful discussion among the AI experts. His #vision: a Bavaria-wide, joint mission as a catalyst for innovative AI made in #Bavaria. #HightechAgendaBayern baiosphere Munich Institute of Robotics and Machine Intelligence (MIRMI) at the Technical University of Munich Dirk Jacob Ute Schmid Dietmar Harhoff Alexander Martin Mario Trapp Technische Universität München Universität Augsburg Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg Hochschule für angewandte Wissenschaften Kempten Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München Otto-Friedrich-Universität Bamberg Technische Universität Nürnberg Helmholtz Munich Deutsches Zentrum für Luft-und Raumfahrt e.V. Bavarian AI Council sets new impulses for Bavarian AI strategy Today, the Bavarian AI Council holds its summer meeting at the Helmholtz Munich Pioneer Campus. Thank you to Fabian Theis for hosting and to Matthias H. Tschöp for providing the location. Both gave inspiring insights into the work of more than 40 medical research groups at Helmholtz Munich, like the Human Cell Atlas or the Helmholtz Institute of AI for Health. The main discussion points during the meeting were the council’s impulses regarding the Bavarian “KI-Offensive” as announced earlier this year by the Bavarian State Government. Bavarian State Minister Markus Blume of the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and the Arts set the impulse for a fruitful discussion among the AI experts. His vision: A Bavarian-wide, joint mission serving as a catalyst for innovative AI made in Bavaria as e.g. a Bavarian Foundation Model which is available for research, companies, and startups. Apart from productive discussions, the council also had to bid farewell to Sami Haddadin as he steps down as head and member of the Bavarian AI Council. Since his appointment in 2020, he has been a driving force in bringing Bavarian AI to both the national and international stage as well as shaping the baiosphere itself. Some highlights of his tenure include decoding opportunities and risks of AI to the public, drafting an AI infrastructure plan for Bavaria, connecting 100 AI professorships of the Hightech Agenda Bavaria, and inspiring the first Bavarian AI Conference AI.BAY in 2023. Markus Blume, along with the council’s Co-Chairs Fabian Theis and Hahn Thomas, as well as the entire Bavarian AI Council and the Bavarian AI Agency, extend their heartfelt gratitude for his dedication and tireless commitment! Sami Haddadin´s contributions have been invaluable, and we wish him all the best in his future endeavors! 📸 Axel König, StMWK #HightechAgendaBayern #HighmedAgenda #ai #innovation #baiosphere
