„Gemeinsam wachsen und erfolgreich sein“ – wir fördern unsere Produktionsmitarbeitende auf dem Weg zur qualifizierten Fachkraft. 🚀 Um ein Zeichen gegen den #Fachkräftemangel zu setzen und mit Blick auf die immer komplexer und digitaler werdenden Abläufe in der Produktion haben wir vor einem Jahr das interne Qualifizierungsprogramm MOVE ins Leben gerufen. Das Ziel: Wir bieten Mitarbeitenden aus der Produktion eine attraktive Entwicklungsperspektive und ermöglichen ihnen einen IHK-Berufsabschluss zum „Maschinen- und Anlagenführer im Bereich Lebensmitteltechnik“. Mithilfe von einem externen Trainerteam sowie den Kolleginnen und Kollegen der Produktionswerke wurden zehn Produktionsmitarbeitende innerhalb von zehn Monaten die notwendigen Theorie- und Praxisinhalte bei uns vor Ort vermittelt. Zum Jahreswechsel ging es für unsere Teilnehmenden in die heiße Phase – die Abschlussprüfungen vor der Handelskammer Bremen - IHK für Bremen und Bremerhaven standen an. Wir sind sehr stolz, dass sich unsere Kolleginnen und Kollegen dieser Herausforderung gestellt und sie nun mit bestandener Prüfung den Abschluss zum qualifizierten Maschinen- und Anlagenführer in der Tasche haben. Herzlichen Glückwunsch, ihr habt es geschafft! 💪❤️ "Growing and being successful together" - we support our production employees on their way to becoming certified specialists. 🚀 A year ago, we started the internal qualification program 'MOVE' to set an example against the shortage of qualified employees. The aim: we offer employees from production an attractive development perspective and enable them to obtain a certification as a "machine and plant operator in the field of food technology". With the help of an external team of trainers and colleagues from the production departments, ten production employees were taught the necessary theoretical and practical content within ten months. At the turn of the year, it was time for our participants to enter the final phase - the final exams were coming up. Digital Germany: For my new job, I have to get my Master Degree officially recognized. This is done through the Kultusministerkonferenz. The steps: - gather all the documents (special list per country. Countries like mine, Argentina, are trusted less 😅 ) - print all the documents, if you don't have them printed - fill in an online form (good!) - print the online form (ok, not good) - sign the online form with a pen - send the form and documents per post (yes, physical letter, with a stamp) - they will send an email with details to pay - after payment they start with the documents - communication from there apparently happens through email and can take up to 3 months, but maybe more because they have a lot of work to do. I love living in Germany and all the positive things about the country, but things like this disappoint me a lot. What does 'expert' mean? One definition is: 'a person who is very knowledgeable about, or skilful in a particular area'. So far, so good. But being an expert in one thing, does not make one an expert in all things. Last week in correspondence with a Health & Safety expert, there was a need to make a key distinction in the area of work based education. In some sectors, such as Construction & Mineral Extraction there is a continued confusion surrounding the difference between 'Training Organisations' & 'Awarding Organisations'. Allow me to articulate: Awarding Organisations are institutions responsible for issuing nationally recognised qualifications. They are approved to offer qualifications by the relevant government regulators. Historically Awarding Organisations were known as Exam Boards, however, the vast majority of modern vocational qualifications don’t involve sitting exams. Instead learners undertake assessments. Such assessments are usually undertaken at approved centres - these are also called Training Providers. These Training Providers are “approved”, i.e. given permission, by Awarding Organisations to enrol learners and assess them. Many older Awarding Organisations take the form of traditional charities charging fees to cover their expenses but newer ones are often private companies. Both are all regulated in the same way. So why the confusion? It arises when an Awarding Organisation decides to offer their own qualifications commercially through a 'division' which acts as a Training Provider. Or to put it another way - 'having your cake & eating it'. Is it good for the Awarding Organisation? Yes, they get 'two bites of the cherry'. Is it good for industry? Perhaps not, the obvious conflicting interests of this model are problematic, the end result is qualifications that are easy to deliver and award, not necessarily qualifications that enhance & upskill. EMPI Awards is an Awarding Organisation. We use our expertise in vocational qualification development & design to produce competence solutions. We work in partnership with independent Training Organisations to raise the bar of workplace occupational competence. The EMPI Awards SVCA is the world's only regulated vocational qualification for drivers & operators of Concrete Mixer Trucks. It isn't a CPC course, it isn't an NVQ. Germany benefits enormously from many low labour cost countries. So we shall at least take care that basic human rights are respected. The new supply chain act (LKSG), a new German law is just doing this. We are now responsible, that our suppliers comply. It means we need to know what happens at our suppliers and in the countries of origin. In our case at FRoSTA AG these are more than 20 countries. We believe that it is important because we want to buy good ingredients from responsible good companies made by people who are at least respected (even if still paid little). Here a short video we registered for the German labour ministry (BMAS), answering their questions (in German). Some companies do not like the new law, because they believe it is just another bureaucratic hurdle. In my believe it is a good initiative.
