Das sonnige Spanien ruft! Schon seit einiger Zeit begleite ich das Münchener Startup Turn2X im Advisory Board. Das junge Team um die Gründer Philip Kessler, Dominik Schollenberger und Benedikt Stolz treibt die Frage um: wie kann die existierende Energieinfrastruktur genutzt werden, um möglichst schnell CO2 Reduzierungen zu erreichen? Hierbei setzt das erfolgreiche junge Unternehmen auf synthetisches, also erneuerbares Gas (#RNG), das mithilfe von #Wasserstoff und CO2 erzeugt wird und beim Transport problemlos die bestehende Gasverteilnetz-Infrastruktur nutzen kann. Das erforderliche CO2 kommt aus biogenen Quellen. Turn2X ist es gelungen, die Versuchsanlage von Uniper in Friedrichshagen zu erwerben. Dort wurde schon seit vielen Jahren ein Power-to-Gas-System erfolgreich getestet und betrieben - eine Kombination von #Elektrolyse und Methanisierung, die dem neuesten Stand der Technik entspricht. Diese Anlage wurde nun von Turn2X abgebaut und in weniger als sechs Monaten ohne jegliche staatliche Unterstützung in Extramadura im Süden 🇪🇸 wieder aufgebaut. Vor kurzem war nun die feierliche Einweihung der Anlage in Anwesenheit unter anderem des Gesandten der Deutschen Botschafter Ingo Stender, des regionalen Wirtschaftsministers Guillermo Santamaría Galdón und rund 100 anderen Gästen aus allen Teilen Europas. Das Ziel des Unternehmens ist ambitioniert: Es soll rasch Kostengleichheit mit den Preisen für fossiles Erdgas erreicht und in den nächsten 5 bis 10 Jahren das Äquivalent von 20 % des spanischen Gasbedarfs produziert werden. Im Rahmen einer Podiumsdiskussion haben wir aus aktuellem Anlass auch das Thema #Energiesicherheit beleuchtet. Souverän moderiert von Anna Böhm saßen u.a. Pedro Lopez Estebaranz von Uniper und Philipp Offenberg von Breakthrough Energy mit mir auf dem Podium. Dem jungen Team von Turn2X wünsche ich weiterhin viel Erfolg! Erst jüngst konnten in einer weiteren Finanzierungsrunde 4,3 Mio. Euro eingenommen werden. Auch das zeigt: das Unternehmen ist auf dem richtigen Weg! #Nachhaltigkeit #Transformation
