The city commissioned a new underground station, featuring our iconic 1200 bench system, designed by the talented Dutch designer Friso Kramer. Fine dining in Cologne's historic town hall: the Gothic Hall from the early 14th century is one of the most important rooms in the city. 🌍 Bridging Continents: Jochen Hahne visits Wilkhahn in the USA Last month, Jochen Hahne, our Chairman of the Advisory Board and grandson of Wilkhahn founder Friedrich Hahne, visited our US team. 🌟 The team organized a rich and varied program, including sightseeing in New York, visiting some of our top references in the "Big Apple," and plenty of time to catch up over dinner. 🗽🍽️ A highlight was the joint visit to the NeoCon design trade fair in Chicago, where Mr. Hahne even snapped a memorable photo with the local firefighters! 🚒📸 The successful week was wrapped up with a delightful dinner with customers. German chef Simon served typical German dishes like asparagus, a seasonal favorite in Germany. 🌿🍴 Thanks to the US team for welcoming Mr. Hahne with open arms and to our partners for the valuable discussions! #interiordesign #officedesign #interiorarchitecture #wilkhahn

On the sunny side - electricity for 15 single-family homes 🌞🏡 At the beginning of June, our CEO Raffael Reinhold and Dr. Jochen Hahne, Chairman of the Wilkhahn Advisory Board, put a new, large-scale photovoltaic system into operation. 🔌 265 solar modules were installed on the roof of our production halls (architect: Thomas Herzog). This will enable us to produce 81,000 kWh of electricity - equivalent to the average power consumption of around 15 single-family homes. ⚡ We will use the majority of the electricity generated in this way ourselves - another step on our way to more climate protection. 💚 The expansion of the power plant will soon be tackled in a second project stage. #sustainability #design #architecture #wilkhahn

475 km on a bike in just 3 days? 🚴 Our colleague Brett Todd from Australia has dedicated himself to this goal. For some time now, he has been out on his bike every morning to train. Because it's not just athletic ambition that drives him: the initiative serves a good cause. At the annual “Ride to Give”, organized by FDC Construction & Fitout, enthusiastic cyclists collect donations for a charitable purpose. They also want to raise awareness for people in need and social injustices. This year, the participants are cycling for the “Boys to the Bush” organization, which has set itself the goal of improving the lives of disadvantaged boys and young men between the ages of eight and twenty. A great cause that we are very happy to support!
