O compromisso com a responsabilidade social também marca os 60 anos da Voith no Brasil, comemorados este mês. Por isso, há 20 anos a empresa criou a Fundação Voith Brasil com o objetivo de desenvolver e apoiar projetos que contribuam para uma sociedade mais igualitária e com melhores oportunidades para todos. Este é um dos elementos do programa Formare Voith, que oferece formação profissional gratuita para jovens do Ensino Médio de escolas públicas da zona oeste de São Paulo. Com certificação reconhecida pelo MEC, desde 2006 o programa já formou mais de 350 jovens, muitos deles tendo a oportunidade de iniciar sua carreira na própria Voith. Outra iniciativa conduzida pela Fundação há mais de 17 anos é o projeto “A Música Venceu”, em que a Fundação Bachiana ministra aulas de música clássica em escolas da região do Jaraguá, em São Paulo. Hoje, a Voith mantém dois polos do projeto, e ao longo desses anos mais de 2.000 alunos já foram positivamente impactados pela iniciativa. Ações como estas, desenvolvidas pela Fundação Voith Brasil, reafirmam o comprometimento efetivo da empresa com a sociedade e com as próximas gerações. Zum Start der neuen #Bundesliga-Saison war der 1. FC Heidenheim 1846 e. V. gestern Abend zu Gast bei Voith. Dr. Toralf Haag, CEO Voith Group, begrüßte den Cheftrainer Frank Schmidt, die Vorstandsriege des #FCH rund um deren Vorsitzenden Holger Sanwald sowie die Bundesligaprofis auf dem Betriebsgelände in #Heidenheim. „Niemals aufgeben, niemals nachlassen, aus Niederlagen gestärkt hervorgehen, bis zum Schluss konzentriert bleiben - das zeichnet den FCH, aus“, so Dr. Toralf Haag. „Dabei ist es im Sport wie in der Wirtschaft: Gemeinsame, ambitionierte Ziele können wir nur als starkes Team erreichen. Ebenso wie der FCH setzen wir bei Voith auf Teamgeist und auf eine gute Mischung aus jungen Talenten und erfahrenen Teammitgliedern, die durch unterschiedliche Perspektiven neue Impulse geben. In 1907, Friedrich Voith expanded his operations by procuring two parcels of land previously housing mills, located on the Brenz. Test facilities for turbines were built here. The first plant was built in Hermaringen in Germany, the second was the Brunnenmühle in Heidenheim at the Voith headquarters. One of the first European pumped storage power plants was built there. 💡 The storage basin had a capacity of 7,000 cubic meters. This created a gradient of 100 meters and was used for tests with high-pressure turbines. Outside of working hours, the energy generated in Hermaringen was used to pump the storage reservoir in Heidenheim full. 🌊 In times of high energy demand, the basin was pumped out to provide additional energy. The test facility in Heidenheim was inaugurated in November 1908 and enabled braking tests with high-pressure turbines of up to 500 hp (368 kilo watts). ⚡ ➡️ The two test facilities equipped Voith for new major orders from all over the world. #Voith #hydropower #egineering #renewableenergy

Knowledge plays a vital role in shaping one’s future, particularly in terms of social and economic development. Our Voith colleagues from Ipoh site, Malaysia, came together to enhance the environment of a local children’s home, namely Pusat Jagaan Anak-anak Yatim & Miskin Nurul Iman, by setting up a reading corner and conducting a donation drive for essential items. The project involved designing the reading area, setting up book racks, and donating essential items such as reading materials, a printer, fans, and more. On the day the items were handed over, volunteers organized interactive activities for the children. The children helped decorate the reading corner and enjoyed games like Charades and Draw & Guess. A highlight was when volunteers designed the cozy reading area complete with wall decorations and book racks. In line with Voith's commitment to sustainability, the book racks were made from wood offcuts by volunteers. A total of 367 books were collected through an internal book donation campaign. As part of the #VoithCares program, Voith and the Hanns Voith Foundation annually award financial support to a select number of employee-nominated social projects and nonprofits they volunteer for. Our donation contributed to the smooth execution of this event. A great success! 🌊 The #Voith Water Tractor concept is widely recognized and utilized in numerous major ports globally, wherever compact, highly maneuverable tugs are needed for ship assistance. The Voith Schneider Propeller is the heart of this system. The water tractor can seamlessly transition from full speed forward to full speed reverse in a matter of seconds, making it also ideal for salvage operations or fire-fighting tasks. The inaugural Voith Water Tractor was commissioned in 1957 for service in the expansive 193 km Suez Canal. Impressively, after more than six decades, it remains operational to this day. ⛴️ #shipping #innovation

Among the 50 worldwide projects selected by the #VoithCares program, four are located in Brazil One of these projects, the Instituto Pra Quem Precisa [Institute for Those in Need], has been chosen to receive financial support from the program. Operating in the city of São Paulo, the institute provides assistance and human development initiatives for squatters and homeless people. Its activities include tutoring classes and vocational training courses for underprivileged children and youth. The funds donated by the #VoithCares program will enable the Instituto Pra Quem Precisa to repair the truck used to donate food and other necessities to the homeless people they assist. This support will allow them to maintain an activity that has a significant impact on the lives of vulnerable youth and families. As part of the #VoithCares program, Voith and the Hanns Voith Foundation annually provide financial support to selected social projects and non-profit organizations appointed by its employees worldwide. In 1907, Friedrich #Voith acquired two plots of land with former mills on the Brenz. Because the larger the turbines become, the more difficult it is to accurately predict their performance. New test facilities were therefore built. One of these is located in Hermaringen, twelve kilometers from the headquarters in Heidenheim, Germany. This is where the small hydropower plant and test site for low-pressure turbines was built, with a gradient of 5.40 meters. The tests were mainly related to Francis low-pressure turbines. The electricity generated by the power plant was fed into the Voith factory in Heidenheim and used there.
