Voith helps growth of zero-emission public transport in the UK, the current frontrunner for #electric #buses. Impressively, no other European country offers such a clear and reliable government funding framework for bus manufacturers and operators. “As of today, we have already supplied the UK with more than 1,000 Voith Electrical Drive Systems (#VEDS) for buses, a figure that is set to increase sharply,” says Holger Seefelder, Vice President Sales EMEA Commercial Vehicles at Voith. TurboBelt DriveControl, Voith’s state-of-the-art digital control system, was designed to work in conjunction with the TurboBelt TPXL’s integrated controller to meet even the most demanding requirements in belt conveyance. It enables seamless connections of drives, belt conveyors and components across the entire conveying process – even over distances of up to 20 km. Even vertical curves and tonnages of more than 12,000 t/h are no problem 💪. It also reduces the mechanical load and dynamic stress on the belt. This extends the belt's service life and lowers the total cost of ownership (#TCO) for the system operator. The #drivecontrol system logs all operating data, which is used for self-diagnosis and remote maintenance. 📣 We are happy and very proud that our CargoFlex #ecoupler marks a major milestone towards the #interoperability of the digital automatic couplers (#DAC) in Europe. Voith is once again setting benchmarks in this area and thus making an important contribution to achieving the goals of the European Green Deal. In future, our electrical coupler design will be the basis for interface #standardization of all DAC in #rail freight transportation. The CargoFlex is equipped with a simple mechanism that makes it possible to block the automatic forward movement of the e-coupler and the opening of the cover. Despite mechanical connection of the coupler locks, the e-coupler always remains securely in its retracted position and the cover remains firmly closed. Bringing more efficiency to the fields is one of the main tasks of modern #agriculture, especially through the automation of driving and working processes. In view of the challenges posed by a growing world population and climate change, Voith subsidiary ARGO-HYTOS offers innovative #solutions to increase efficiency and #sustainability in agriculture 🚜. A good example of this is the Spray Height Control System. This assistance system ensures that the distance between the spray boom and the plant canopy remains constant. The distance to the plant is precisely measured and adjusted using ultrasonic sensors and hydraulic control technology. In addition, using hydropneumatic suspension technology the sprayer boom is decoupled from the rest of the machine. Compared to standard mechanical suspension solutions, the suspension characteristics can be adjusted electronically, while simplifying the mechanical setup of the boom kinematics.
