GABON EXPANDS VISA-FREE ENTRY AND INVESTS IN TRAVEL INFRASTRUCTURE TO BOOST TOURISM The Gabonese government has expanded its visa-free entry list to include numerous additional countries. Enhancing its travel policy, which already permits travelers from over 24 countries to enter Gabon without a visa, the government has also introduced further developments: ➡ These include increased funding for airports, the hospitality sector, and road infrastructure. The initiatives aim to make Gabon more welcoming and accessible to international visitors, unlocking immense potential for tourism to drive economic growth in the country. ➡ Eco-tourism is a key focus in Gabon, with current projects largely centered around the country’s extensive network of national parks. With a population of only 2.3 million spread across 100,000 square miles, Gabon's vast rainforests contribute to its status as one of the world’s few carbon-negative countries. ➡ The country's coastline serves as a vital nesting ground for leatherback turtles and offers whale-watching opportunities from June to July. Further south, Loango National Park allows tourists to book affordable gorilla treks, offering a cost-effective alternative to Rwanda and Uganda. KENYA`S TOURISM SECTOR SEES RECORD REVENUE GROWTH   ➡ Kenya's tourism sector experienced a significant revenue boost, with a 31% increase, reaching Ksh352.5 billion in the past year. The surge in African visitors played a pivotal role in driving this growth, with Uganda and Tanzania leading the list of countries contributing tourists. ➡ Despite the United States maintaining its position as Kenya’s primary tourism market, there was a notable increase in visitors from other regions. This influx of arrivals led to record-breaking tourist numbers, signaling a promising recovery from the pandemic-induced setbacks. ➡ As the sector navigates fluctuating economic conditions and changing traveler preferences, strategic investments in infrastructure, marketing, and sustainable tourism practices are essential to maintain Kenya’s position as a premier destination in East Africa.
