Twisted Ramble Games

After more than 5 years of hard work on "Duru", we are happy to have received our first award at the German Developer Award yesterday! 🥂🥳🎉🥺 Our joy can hardly be put into words, as you could see from the reaction on stage (if you want to see the joy: https://lnkd.in/eFne3KGT [German]). 🫶 We would like to thank everyone who has supported us along the way! Without you, this moment would not have come true. Thank you dear friends, family, (former) colleagues, community, supporters, press representatives and of course the jury! 🫂 We look forward to upcoming award ceremonies for Duru 🤞 and are positive about continuing to raise awareness of serious issues with "Games Beyond Entertainment" in the future.

The past days have been incredibly busy for Twisted Ramble, but they were also filled with learning, connection, and appreciation for and with women in the games industry. As part of the "Women Making Games" program organized by the Institut français, I, Kerstin, had the privilege of meeting five amazing women in the industry: Céleste Kleinjans, Coline Sauvand, Julie K., Audrey Gravier, Clemenc • Agnès Vuillaume All of you are a true inspiration, and getting to know you has filled me with energy and determination! I am very thankful to the Institut français for including me in this program, and especially to Sofia Saa for organizing it. As part of the three-day program, I also attended Womenize!, where I not only listened to great talks and participated in a workshop but also had the opportunity to showcase our game, Duru, in the gaming corner. Thank you, Madeleine, for the chance to present our work and for organizing this year's event! And of course, a big thank you to Ruth Lemmen and Michael Liebe who brought the Womenize! to life 9 years ago, so there is a big birthday coming up next year! 😊 The "Women Making Games" program will continue in August. This time we meet up in Cologne for Gamescom! I’m looking forward to see all my fellow Game Dev Queens there 💖

A remarkable moment! On April 18th, we had the honor of being nominated for the German Computer Games Award in the category "Best Serious Game" with "Duru – About Mole Rats and Depression". It was an inspiring experience to be part of such a distinguished event and meet so many lovely people. Although we did not emerge as winners this time, we still want to express our gratitude. A heartfelt thank you to Marie Mouroum, speaker of the category Best Serious Game, for her inspiring speech. We also want to extend our deepest gratitude to our dedicated team. Your hard work and unwavering dedication have been the backbone of our project. Our warmest congratulations go to the deserving winners, Playing History! You have demonstrated outstanding performance and truly earned this award. May your success continue to soar and inspire you to new heights. And of course, much love to Tiny Crocodile for the nomination and for being in second place with us. We are proud to be part of such a talented and passionate community and look forward to the future and more exciting projects, such as continuing our work on "Was it Poison?!".

We are finally revealing our new project! Under the working title "Was it Poison?!" our next game takes us on a mysterious adventure, following Elisabat, an upstart writer and sleuth-by-circumstance. Friendship, intrigue, and murder are at the heart of this captivating story. Reflecting our motto of "Creating colorful games about dark topics," this project continues our commitment to crafting engaging experiences that delve into complex themes. In our previous project "Duru," we focused on approaching the topic of depression with respect and sensitivity. This same approach guides our current project, highlighting our dedication to meaningful gaming experiences. We deeply value every bit of support on our journey! Die drei Entwicklerinnen Kerstin Schuett, Sandra Sponagel und Verena Hetsch haben mit ihrem Spiel „Duru - Über Mulle und Depressionen“ den Deutschen Entwicklerpreis 2023 in der Kategorie 𝘉𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘴 𝘎𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘉𝘦𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘥 𝘌𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 gewonnen. 🥇   Der Deutsche Entwicklerpreis ist eine Auszeichnung für erfolgreiche Entwicklerstudios von #Computerspielen und anderer digitaler #Unterhaltungssoftware, die von games.nrw vergeben wird. 🎮 Als älteste Auszeichnung für Computerspiele aus dem deutschsprachigen Raum ehrt der Preis jährlich herausragende Spiele und vor allem die kreativen Köpfe 👩💼👨💼 hinter den Spielen in 14 verschiedenen Kategorien. In diesem Jahr durfte die Wirtschaftsförderung Düsseldorf erstmals die Preiskategorie „Bestes Game Beyond Entertainment“ präsentieren.
