Munich with the Technical University of Munich at the forefront for founders! The German Startup Monitor 2024 was published yesterday at Bits & Pretzels and once again underlines the importance of our universities, not only with data, but also with the support of Verena Pausder and Robert Habeck. ➡️ 80.5% of the #startups surveyed rate the proximity to #universities positively, making them a decisive location factor. ➡️ 86.8% of the founders would choose Munich again. ➡️ For #DeepTech start-ups in particular, proximity to the latest scientific findings is a driving force. Bavaria stands out here with 14.8%, thanks to its strong technology location in the vicinity of the Technical University of Munich. ➡️ As scientific and technical innovations in the DeepTech sector often form the basis of the company, patents play a decisive role for 70% of respondents. Once a year, the German Startup-Verband surveys startups and founders to gain insights into current developments in the ecosystem. The #DSM24 provides data on these and many other questions. This week we celebrated the opening of the planqc building! The Bavarian Prime Minister Dr. Markus Söder joined the event with a keynote speech! This new space, which also houses our 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗺 / 𝗦𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰𝗼𝗻 𝗟𝗮𝗯, is a place to foster innovation and collaboration between established and emerging founders. With planqc, the first spin-off from Munich Quantum Valley and one of the first start-up teams to be supported by us, we're looking forward to sharing the space with them! 𝐓𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭-𝐮𝐩𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐀𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐕𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 How can researchers turn their work into successful #startups? Over three inspiring days at the picturesque Ammersee, the Ammersee Venture School provided the answers. Researchers learned how to turn their innovations into viable businesses, from identifying commercial applications to pitching to potential investors. Five teams tackled challenges ranging from #healthcare to #quantum communications, working together to make a difference. They networked with founders, refined their pitches, and presented to a panel of experts. Congratulations to our winning team, 𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧, and all the participants for their exceptional work! Your entrepreneurial journeys are just beginning, and we can't wait to see what comes next.
