Their app offers guided sessions that promote constructive communication and active listening. 👫💬 🥈 2nd Place: eazea.io Spearheaded by Sami Mkhazni, Constantin Lang, and Daniel Loureiro, the team developed an AI shopping assistant that e-commerce companies could deploy and start learning from their shoppers in minutes instead of weeks. 🛒🤖 🥉 3rd Place: Team Dynamics AI Founded by Ian Tolan, Kilian Käslin, and Toni Koster, Team Dynamics AI focused on building the HR service center of the future. From seamless employee queries to automating form processing and continuously updating your HR knowledge base, this platform elevated the overall HR experience. 🏢🔄 🏅 People’s Choice Award: ProviGen.ai Founded by Lucas Mair, Oliver Kraus, Magdalena Lang, and Sebastian Godde, the team built an AI agent that can act as a catalyst for scientific breakthroughs. 🚀 Highlights from our recent AI Academy workshop with Airbus! 🚀 We wrapped up this year's AI Academy with an exciting workshop in collaboration with Airbus, focusing on AI in the aerospace industry. Missed the workshop? No worries! Here are some insights: ✅ We understood and saw how AI applications are being used at Airbus at various stages - from product design and manufacturing to operations and maintenance. Highlights included recent demonstrations such as computer vision-assisted aircraft takeoffs, air-to-air refueling with drones, drone inspections, collaboration between aircrafts and swarms of drones, and speech-to-text understanding for pilot-tower communication. ✅ Special emphasis was also placed on the challenges of certifying AI algorithms, accountability, on-board hardware limitations, and data shortage in the defense domain that make the use of AI in aerospace particularly challenging. ✅ Our hands-on session featured Airbus' scikit-decide framework, which allows us to define decision problems and match them with the best solvers from a broad catalog. We compared a reinforcement learning algorithm with a Cartesian genetic programming algorithm on the cart pole task using the OpenAI Gymnasium benchmark. In addition, we presented a flight planning optimization tool using real-time weather data and achieved our first AI Academy flight from Toulouse-Blagnac to Paris Charles de Gaulle. 🧠 How can we tackle bias in AIs operating on medical images? 🧠 Our AI Academy workshop with Ryver.ai gave some insights and we got our hands dirty training an x-ray classifier with and without synthetic images to see the improvement! In a hands-on and interactive workshop we shed light on the problem of unbalanced and biased medical datasets. We integrated synthetic data into the dataset to train our model. This addition gave us a significant improvement over the baseline and demonstrated the value of synthetic medical data. 🚀 Recap post to our Industrial AI Workshop with NVIDIA! 🚀 Last Monday, we saw how NVIDIA provides extensive tools to enable users to solve industrial problems using state-of-the-art AI methods! Here's what we learnt: ✅Synthetic Data Generation: We saw how NVIDIA's Omniverse, Replicator, and Isaac Sim enable scalable synthetic data creation with programmable randomization. ✅ Foundation Model Fine-Tuning: We saw firsthand how simple it is to train and fine-tune large vision transformers using the TAO toolkit from NVIDIA. ✅Deployment: We learned about the on-the-fly optimization capabilities of DeepStream and how we can use it to deploy machine learning models on the edge. It was a truly enlightening and insightful session, and we're grateful for NVIDIA and our amazing guests from NVIDIA, Maycon C. for sharing his expertise in a very engaging way and Kartik Sachdev for helping with the workshop!
