Respect is at the core of our work—respect for the water, the environment, and people. This week, our employees volunteered with four local charities around Lake Starnberg, near our headquarters. We aimed to inspire others to engage with local charities, whether as a company or private individuals. We thank südSee Kinder- und Jugendhilfe e.V., BUND Naturschutz Starnberg, Tierheim Starnberg, and Starnberger Tafel for allowing us to help their causes: südSee Kinder- und Jugendhilfe e.V. - provides children who cannot live under custody of their family a new, safe and long-lasting home. We helped with gardening, repainting the lakeside shed, repairing and construction work to help maintain a welcoming atmosphere for the children. BUND Naturschutz Starnberg protects the natural resources of humans, animals and plants from further destruction and helps to establish organic agriculture. We weeded "Greiskraut" from a biotope to allow its grass to be fed to animals on an organic farm. Tierheim Starnberg, our local animal shelter, comprises a team of 20 who look after pets and wild animals in need. We helped them in mowing lawn and weeding as well as making the facilities more accommodating for the animals. Starnberger Tafel is the food bank of Starnberg who bridge the gap between the abundance of food and the existing disparity in our society, handing food to people who need it most. We supported the food bank in handing out food in a booth on a local market, from build-up to dismantling the booth. #Respect #SocialEngagement #Sustainability
This week at Torqeedo is all about giving back during our "Social Week." We've had the opportunity to support various charitable organizations, including a children's home, the BUND Naturschutz, and an animal shelter. Today, I joined the team at Tafel Starnberg to help distribute food to those in need. I was truly inspired by the dedication and motivation of everyone there! They are a fantastic team, passionately working to improve the lives of people who are often overlooked in our society. All the food we distributed would have otherwise gone to waste, underscoring the critical need to understand and improve our societal systems as a whole. I am incredibly grateful for this wonderful experience! The day concluded with the grand finale of the Torqeedo Summer Fest at Lake Starnberg.
