Cold Atmospheric Plasma Technology (CAPT) increases the number of keratinocytes capable of migrating and inducing re-epithelialization. In addition in children other two anatomical effects are clearly seen such as restoring the tight junctions and opening of calcium channels. But the metabolism in the deep skin layers also improves the migration of fibroblasts through the increase in intracellular ROS. In particular, the high metabolism of pediatric skin tissues is enhanced by the portable cold-plasma technique through a mitochondrial hyperplasia clearly evident in TEM. These preliminary findings indicate that the CAPT effects can help treat proinflammatory and true inflammatory skin stages of pressure ulcer in various evoluting steps with a reversal of chronic microscopical factors. Let’s have much more studies on this promising subject.
