TAKING NEXT-LEVEL COMMUNICATION TO NEW DEPTHS 🌊 🛜 Telekom Business Europe is once again leading the development of Europe’s telecommunications infrastructure—this time in Macedonia.    Our team at Makedonski Telekom AD installed the country’s first underwater fiber optic cable in Lake Debar, spanning a distance of 1 km. 🔛 🇲🇰    🔗 This enhances the existing network infrastructure across an area of 6.32 km², paving the way for more base stations and connection points to join the fiber optic network.    💚 Together with professional divers, the Makedonski Telekom team installed the cable with as little impact on the natural environment as possible.    🌊 The team will now explore new ways of using the country’s lakes and other expanses of water to expand the fiber optic network safely.    Makedonski Telekom overcame all the challenges with innovative approaches, showcasing our commitment to exceeding customer requirements and providing sustainable solutions.    Because our shared mission is to connect everyone, everywhere. IMPROVING WATER QUALITY WITH IOT SOLUTIONS 💧🛟 We’re excited to announce that our colleagues from T-Mobile Biznes Polska and T-Mobile Polska Business Solutions , together with the Polish City of Wroclaw [Wroclove], have launched an innovative IoT project to improve water quality. The aim is to both ensure the health of residents and help protect our planet. 🌍 It’s a great example of how we can use advanced technology to not only support economies and growth but also to protect our natural ecosystems and ultimately help improve the quality of life for communities. 🌱 🐟 However, the project was born out of an environmental disaster on the Oder River in 2022, which led to the death of 360 tons of fish—around half of the fish population in the Oder and its tributaries. This raised awareness of the importance of preventive measures. T-Mobile Polska helped address the challenge. In Wrocław, advanced buoys now keep track of key water parameters such as dissolved oxygen, temperature, pH, and chlorides. This real-time data allows officials to respond quickly, protecting the aquatic ecosystem and biodiversity. 🚢 RIJEKA GATEWAY GOES DIGITAL WITH 5G – A SUCCESS STORY ON BOTH LAND AND SEA Rijeka Gateway d.o.o is a port operating company founded by A.P. Moller - Maersk and ENNA Group. To set itself up for future success, the company wanted to use the latest technology to improve operations and boost efficiency.    As such, Rijeka Gateway turned to our colleagues from Hrvatski Telekom to provide a cutting-edge Private 5G Campus Network for the new container port in Rijeka. This is a significant step that will help develop 5G technology in the maritime industry.    The project highlights the confidence that Rijeka Gateway has in our ability to provide a high-availability service for seamless 24/7 port operations. It also validates our strategy for delivering business-critical communication over our public mobile network.    APM Terminals, which is part of Maersk Group and oversees wireless connectivity in over 70 ports worldwide, will now test this new operational model—Managed Service by Hrvatski Telekom—in Rijeka. They will also migrate from the current 5G NSA architecture to the advanced 5G SA architecture, becoming our first public network private slice user.
