Her talk, titled "From Rustbelts to Microchip Valleys? What Innovation Policy for Regional Revitalization Misses - and How to Fix It," promises to be insightful.   Marlise will dive into the drawbacks of current innovation policies for regional redevelopment and highlight the importance of local knowledge in shaping their future. Her insights come from her PhD research on "lost regions of innovation," inspired by her roots in Upstate New York and its potential to transform into a semiconductor hub.   Having lived in Munich for six years, Marlise is excited to visit Nuremberg and share her discoveries. TEDxNuremberg 2024 is approaching fast, and we are thrilled to introduce one of our speakers, Dr. Dilara Fietta (Yesilbas).   Dilara will give us insights into the intriguing theme of how the uncertainty inherent in AI can be harnessed to drive innovation and address global challenges. By shifting the narrative around AI's "Black Box" from fear to opportunity, she aims to inspire a new perspective that sees uncertainty as a powerful catalyst for progress.   Her talk is deeply personal, drawing on her own family history and experiences. She believes that just as embracing uncertainty has positively influenced her life, it can also unlock significant advancements in the field of AI, particularly through Deep Learning.   Dilara has a strong connection to Nuremberg, having moved to Erlangen for her studies and settling in Nuremberg in 2013. Over the past 11 years, Nuremberg has become her home, and significant moments of her life, including earning her PhD and meeting her husband, have taken place here.   Professionally, Dilara is the Technical Lead for Artificial Intelligence and Data at an automotive supplier company.
