Friday, July 7, we had our first workshop of the research project "KI-M-Bat" on grid applications for battery energy storage systems (BESS). Under the title "The present and future challenges of the German power grid: Will batteries power the 'Energiewende'?" we had exciting talks from The Mobility House, Bayernwerk Natur GmbH, TenneT, ecostore and sonnen GmbH, who looked at the role of battery storage in the future power grid from different perspectives. Inspired by the talks, we had interesting discussions and interactive feedback (#menti) on the challenges and chances of involving BESS in the future grid. 🙏 Many thanks to our speakers and partners: Prashant Pant, Stefan Franzesko, Ulrich Bürger and Johanna Jungbauer, Dr. Julian Rominger, Dr. Matthias Philipp, Carina Hock, Prof. Dr. Holger Hesse, Technische Universität München, Hochschule für angewandte Wissenschaften Kempten & FENECON GmbH. The project is funded by the Bavarian Research Foundation/ Bayerische Forschungsstiftung.
