🌍 Vendée Globe 2024: The List of The 40 Participants Unveiled ✅ It’s official! The list of the 40 participants for the upcoming Vendée Globe was revealed earlier this afternoon. Although our skipper Boris Herrmann had already confirmed his qualification and was selected under the new boat expectation rule, the full list of selected participants was still pending. 42 skippers qualified, but the selection was limited to 40 participants. “Here we go! Today marks 130 days until the start of my second Vendée Globe participation, and I’m very much looking forward to it”, commented Boris Herrmann. “On the 10th of November, forty skippers will be at the start of this very tough race, and the level of competition is incredibly high. 🏆💙 Boris Receives The German Ocean Award 2024 💙🏆 The “Deutscher Meerespreis” of the Prof. Dr Werner Petersen Foundation in recognition of his engagement as an ambassador for the Ocean and for communicating marine research topics to the general public. The prize was awarded tonight jointly with GEOMAR Helmholtz-Zentrum für Ozeanforschung Kiel under the patronage of Daniel Günther, Minister President of Schleswig-Holstein, at a ceremony with invited guests. During his offshore races, Boris is not just interested in the sports competition: To him and his TEAM MALIZIA, the fight against climate change is a race that we must win together. A Race We Must Win – Climate Action Now! – the slogan painted on the sails of our Malizia - Seaexplorer race yacht leaves no doubt what is at stake. For years, Boris Herrmann and our team have been committed to protecting the Ocean, supporting science by collecting data during races that often take them to remote Ocean regions, and by campaigning for Ocean education. 💬 “I am proud of what we have achieved with our Team Malizia. This includes the growing popularity and enthusiasm for our sport, but above all the visible commitment to education and science to protect the climate and the Ocean.
