𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗮 𝘃𝘀 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗲𝘀𝘁: “𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹𝘆𝘇𝗲𝗿𝘀.” In last week's newsletter, the Financial Times spoke with investors about their perspectives on green fuels and discussed various viewpoints. Sunfire investor HydrogenOne Capital LLP was also featured:  💬 Sunfire stands for quality and reliability and “Sunfire’s models could overtake Chinese electrolyzers.” 💬 “Sunfire’s production of newer solid-oxide (SOEC) electrolysers made it a particularly attractive investment.” The technology could “give western manufacturers an edge. SOEC technologies consume less electricity, making them more competitive when costs rise.” 🌍💡 We see enormous industrial potential as the green hydrogen economy scales up and firmly believe in the competitiveness of European manufacturers. However, challenges such as an intensifying geopolitical subsidy race must be addressed. To maintain Europe’s leadership in hydrogen, bold and intelligent industrial policy is essential! 💪 While the hydrogen industry’s journey may feel like a “roller coaster”, as noted by the Financial Times, we are moving forward decisively as a German pioneer in green hydrogen, delivering electrolyzers at an industrial scale. Our innovative SOEC technology represents a true game-changer with record efficiency. We firmly believe that green hydrogen is the key to decarbonizing our industries—and we’re ready to rise to the challenge! (👇link to full article in comments) #HydrogenIsTheAnswer

🔑 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗗𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗵𝗶’𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 Earlier this week, Mario Draghi, former president European Central Bank (ECB), published his much-awaited report named "the future of European competitiveness". The report aims to support the European Commission in building a sustainable and competitive Europe. Draghi highlights the transformative role of hydrogen technologies in driving European competitiveness. Here are some key recommendations and how they can support the development of green hydrogen: 💡 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 & 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗚𝗼 𝗛𝗮𝗻𝗱-𝗶𝗻-𝗛𝗮𝗻𝗱: Draghi sees the EU’s carbon neutrality goal as a major opportunity to lower energy prices and revitalize industry. #Cleantech plays a pivotal role empowering both decarbonization and sustainable industrialization. His report recommends a "joint decarbonization and competitiveness plan" based on a cost-effective approach involving all available technologies. The plan would include strong measures to preserve Europe's technological sovereignty against unfair competition. Our view: Renewable energy deployment will be the key driver to Europe's fossil-free economy. While a cost-effective approach to decarbonization is crucial, clear priority should be given to fully carbon-free technologies over fossil-based alternatives. 🌍 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗕𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗹𝗳-𝗥𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘁: Europe faces strategic dependencies on critical goods and technologies for its growth. This makes the EU dangerously vulnerable to geopolitics changes. To tackle this, Draghi suggests the EU to increase control over its supply chain and develop a genuine "foreign economic policy" focused on securing key resources. Our view: Reducing dependency on third parties for critical raw materials and value chains in clean technologies is crucial. Hydrogen Europe and the Renewable Hydrogen Coalition have identified three key manufacturing steps that must remain within the EU to ensure resilience in Europe’s hydrogen value chain. 🌱 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝗡𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Europe is falling behind in research and innovation, particularly in new and disruptive technologies. Draghi calls for increased public funding in new and strategic technologies, simplified financing rules and a harmonized regulatory framework across Member States. The EU needs to become more attractive to innovative companies and facilitate private investments. Our view: More funding in the green hydrogen sector will be critical in lowering production costs. Clear, mandatory and enforceable sectoral targets for hydrogen uses would also attract private investment into the hydrogen value chain. We welcome this proactive approach to building a leading European clean tech ecosystem. Many of his recommendations will help guiding the EU on its path towards a fossil-free economy. #HydrogenIsTheAnwer
