Though 2023’s $50B didn’t reach that peak, it still outshined pre-2021 numbers. - Over the last decade, there’s been a 12.5x increase in funding. - Despite a 30% dip in overall climate tech VC funding, its share of the total VC pie grew from 14% to 16%. 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒎𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒂𝒈𝒆 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒚𝒐𝒖? Even when markets tighten, climate tech remains a must-watch, with VCs being more interested that ever before 𝑾𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆’𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑴𝒐𝒏𝒆𝒚 𝑮𝒐𝒊𝒏𝒈? 🛸 Transportation: Dominated 2023 climate tech funding with $18.6B, which is 50% more than energy sector investments. 🚗 EV Batteries: The second top-funded segment in 2023, surpassing other prominent verticals like Urban Tech and Circular Economy. 🔋Hydrogen: Startups in this space registered a staggering 111% growth in the last 24 months. 🌱Regenerative Agriculture: The fastest-growing segment over the last year, boasting 101% growth to $500M. 💨 Wind Energy & Direct Air Capture: Both segments have shown strong growth in recent years, further cementing their importance in the climate tech ecosystem.
