This well-deserved promotion is a result of his hard work, dedication, and outstanding contributions to our team. 𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐡𝐦𝐨𝐮𝐝:  Mahmoud Akl joined us 1 year and 7 months ago as a Neuromorphic Engineer. With an ongoing PhD from TU Munich and a wealth of experience in Neuromorphic Computing and Machine Learning, he has consistently demonstrated exceptional skill and leadership. 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐑𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬: Leading the Applications team to develop and implement innovative solutions that integrate advanced deep learning, neuromorphic, and massively parallel computing concepts into our hardware products. 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐌𝐚𝐡𝐦𝐨𝐮𝐝:  "I am truly honored and excited to take on this new role. I have been working with spiking neurons and neuromorphic principles throughout my master’s and PhD, and I’m very excited to continue this work in developing real-world applications using these technologies on a sophisticated chip like SpiNNaker 2, which enables many possibilities."

Why #hightech startups should join an #accelerator❓ We asked SpiNNcloud Systems GmbH a spin-off from Technische Universität Dresden about their experience: "Our team was selected to participate in the 14th batch of ExciteLab partner SpinLab - The HHL Accelerator – for us, one of the best accelerator programs in the EU. We benefited from top-notch mentors and the ex-founder's expertise of the SpinLab coaches, gained access to industry leaders and investors, and even found two new key team members. We are therefore convinced that high-tech startups will also thrive at the new location in Dresden (ExciteLab)." High-tech startups face unique challenges such as securing #funding, accessing specialized technical expertise, and building connections with industry leaders. Accelerators like #ExciteLab provide essential support to overcome these hurdles. 𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝗜 𝗮𝗺: My name is Zhuo Wang. I have a strong background in both software and hardware development, with a focus on VLSI design and algorithm implementation. I hold a Master's degree in Nano electronic Systems from Technische Universität Dresden and a Bachelor's degree from Beijing Institute of Technology. My experience has equipped me with the skills necessary to excel in the fields of AI and neural applications. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜'𝗹𝗹 𝗱𝗼 𝗮𝘁 𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗡𝗡𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗱: I work as an 𝐄𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐝𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐌𝐋 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫 at SpiNNcloud. In this role, I will be working on SpiNNaker2 and its next-gen products, focusing on AI and neural applications. My goal is to contribute to the development and optimization of embedded machine learning solutions. 𝗠𝘆 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿: I always notice the rain before others.

The Fürberg workshop is a legendary event held annually at the beautiful Wolfgangsee lake in Austria, which started as an alignment meeting organized by members of the Human Brain Project and that has now extended to discuss brain inspired algorithms at its full extent. We are honored to be within the list of participants and we look forward to continue the cooperations kickstarted at the event.
