📣 We're pleased to announce Michael Bonacker and James Freis as new members of Solaris' Supervisory Board. During the general assembly, Michael and James were appointed to join our supervisory board consisting of Ramin Niroumand, Burkhard Eckes and Tomoyuki Nii. Michael has 30 years of professional experience in financial services including roles in management, investment banking and consulting. He has held senior management positions such as Group Head of Strategy at UBS and Head of Development at Commerzbank. James served as the United States Department of the Treasury’s Director of the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network. “Solaris has been built on fantastic technological foundations and has shown tremendous resilience during the past 12 months to establish a pole position in the embedded finance market. While the market has huge potential, Solaris must now focus on long-term organizational transformation. 👩💼 Last week Solaris’ Head of KYC Operations, Katarzyna Mrowińska LL.M attended Money20/20 as part of the RiseUp program. The Money20/20 RiseUp program promotes diversity in fintech, and supports women on their journey to leadership with the network, tools and techniques to strategically advance their career and reach new heights. Katarzyna was selected alongside 30 other women who are making a mark on fintech out of 250 applicants: “I gained valuable insights into leadership, the power of a contrarian mindset, and managing imposter syndrome. The experience was truly enriching, highlighting that Money 20/20 is not just the event about trends, technology, and fintech. 🧡 Last week we were proud to celebrate Diversity Week at Solaris. Inspired by Charta der Vielfalt e.V.'s German Diversity Day we wanted to encourage our global team of Solarians to challenge their own views and embrace the benefits of being different. The Solaris Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) group put on a week full of thought provoking activities based on the theme of how to shape an inclusive workplace: ✨ A discussion session where we looked at cultural differences, bias and privileges, and how they impact our perception and behaviours.  ✨ A movie night that shed light on how much bias is being coded into artificial intelligence and thus influencing information sharing and decision making.  ✨ A focus session on neurodiversity that highlighted why it is so important to create an environment that recognizes and emphasizes each person’s individual strengths and talents while providing support for their differences and needs. ✨ An exciting panel discussion with external guests to discuss what all of us can and need to do to shape inclusive work environments. Thank you to Matthias Weber, Saskia Naujok, and Sharai Gustavus for sharing their perspectives and experiences openly. It was a good reminder of how much there is still to do - and that we all can do our bit to start making a change. Thank you to everyone at Solaris that took part and put in the work to create a week full of important discussions!
