🚲 It's done 🙌 Our colleague Ben made it across the Alps to Milan.   After a stopover in Lyon at SMA Solar France, he was greeted by his colleagues in Italy with a warm welcome, coffee and cake.   Ben conquered sun, cold and rain, climbed 2,200 meters of altitude and crossed the Alps at the same point where Hannibal and his elephants once did. He also adopted a calf 🐄.   On his "European Tour" he met colleagues from three SMA subsidiaries and raised more than €5,000 for the "Kleine Riesen" children's palliative care team in Kassel.   Thanks to Ben for this great initiative, the great photos and the regular updates from the road. New energy from the company roof   Just before the start of the heating season, we completed the installation of two state-of-the-art heat pumps on the roof of our corporate headquarters. They replace an outdated biogas cogeneration plant and a chiller, both of which were once state of the art but are outdated now.   SMA CEO Jürgen Reinert took advantage of a sunny day and, together with Sarah Knostmann and Christoph Schevalje from SMA Corporate Real Estate Management, inspected the reversible heat pumps that provide heat and cool air.   We are proud of this next step in our commitment to climate-friendly energy use within the company, as we strive to embed sustainability in every part of our business.   Key facts about the advanced heat pumps: ✔ Reversible design, providing both heating and cooling on demand. ✔ Uses environmentally friendly propane R290 refrigerant with a global warming potential of only 3. ✔ Helps reduce natural gas consumption by approximately 1,600 megawatt-hours per year. ✔ Harness solar energy from our rooftop installations. ✔ Supporting 100% renewable electricity at our headquarters.   Thank you to everyone involved in making this project a success! The first stage has been completed: SMA colleague Benjamin has arrived at our subsidiary in Mechelen (Belgium) on his cycling trip and received an enthusiastic welcome. Benjamin is taking his annual leave and some flexitime hours to explore Europe by bike, visit international colleagues, and collect donations for a good cause at the same time. With his e-bike tour, he has already collected over 3,500 euros in donations for the Kassel-based palliative care initiative "Kleine Riesen". Keep up the good work, Ben, and have a safe journey! More and more homes are opting for solar plus storage.  We have collected some important findings on solar battery profitability for PV installers. Here is an excerpt from our guide:   🔄 1.
