SevenAccelerator is the early stage Venture Capital unit of ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE and part of SevenVentures, the leading TV media investor. We mainly invest media volume (TV, Influencer, Joyn, Digital...) through a convertible into B2C startups from Seed - Series A with relevant traction. Through the last years we've invested into over 50 companies including Asana Rebel, Clark, foodist, Instahelp or Sirplus. Our aim is to identify strong founders and startups at an early stage and help them to become category leaders in their segment through our media volume, as a sparring partner and through operational support.

    Knit anywhere, at anytime and with anyone – The World Wide Knit in Public Day 🧶🌍 This weekend, the World Wide Knit in Public Day took place. This special day isn't just about yarn and needles, it's about community, creativity, and sharing passion. The global event, founded in 2005, encourages knitters to come together in public spaces to break the stereotype of knitting as a solitary, indoor activity. It's a day to connect, create, and inspire! One #startup has recognized the creative and connecting potential of knitting also outside of this special day. We at #SevenAccelerator are happy to work with a portfolio partner known for its unique approach to knitting – OONIQUE. The company was founded in 2020 and since then is revolutionizing the #knitting world with its unique business model, offering customizable, high-quality knitting kits that cater to both beginners and seasoned pros. Their mission? To make knitting more accessible, personalized, and enjoyable for everyone. OONIQUE’s innovative approach allows customers to design their own knitting kits online, selecting their preferred size and color. This customization not only empowers knitters to create something truly unique but also ensures they have all the tools they need to succeed. Their kits come with detailed instructions and video tutorials, making it easy for anyone to pick up knitting, no matter their skill level. Moreover, the Munich-based start-up is dedicated to #sustainability. They source eco-friendly materials and promote mindful consumption, which aligns with the values of today’s environmentally conscious consumers. This commitment not only helps reduce waste but also supports ethical production practices. We have been working with OONIQUE since 2022. There have been a number of joint successes and milestones along the way. For example, OONIQUE’s TV campaign has boosted them to become one of the best-known online knitting/wool-companys. Recently, we converted our media investment in company shares and thereby took the next step in our shared journey. We’re looking forward to what’s yet to come!     We are delighted to introduce our first SevenVentures Pitch Day 2024 jury member! 🎉 We are thrilled to welcome Alexandra Szarmach, Chief Human Resources Officer at flaconi, to our #PitchDay jury for the first time. Alexandra brings a wealth of experience from top brands like Sephora and Nestle Nespresso. At flaconi – one of ProSieben Sat.1 Group’s biggest and most successful shareholdings – she is responsible for developing a motivating and appreciative company culture for the more than 700 employees from over 60 nations. Are you yourself an investor, or simply passionate about developing young brands? As Chief Human Resources Officer, I am genuinely passionate about young talents. Our role as an e-commerce player is to support innovative ideas and young, ambitious entrepreneurs. On top of that I am always seeking ways to especially empower female talents and get connected with them. Either through mentoring, as their coach or just by encouraging them to keep on working on their projects. I have worked in different companies with a strong start-up flair & mindset and always loved the energy, hands-on mentality and high level of commitment from teams to push their idea to a blooming business. 2. What are you most looking forward to at SevenVentures Pitch Day 2024? Are there any current start-up trends or innovations that you are super excited about at the moment? I am very excited to meet the people behind the ideas and start-ups and to learn more about their journey and vision. Business wise, I am very interested in everything around AI. I would also love to see some female power on stage and in the finale. 3. What in your opinion marks out a successful start-up pitch? I am very curious to hear the story behind the start-ups, so that we can get to know the entrepreneurs and the persons behind, what drives them and why do they believe in their idea. I would love them to let us experience why they are so passionate and convinced about their idea, not just by numbers but also by sharing their vision and journey behind their company in a captivating way. My message to all participants: Get straight to the point & don't forget to enjoy the moment! 4. And lastly - what do you want to see from a Pitch Day winner? I wish to see a great mindset and commitment as well as a disruptive product that appeals to the customer. Thanks Alexandra!     A few days ago, our colleagues Christian and Michael attended #Cashwalk Munich. At this event, 28 hand-picked #startups met 55 top investors. This 1:2 ratio of start-ups to VCs assured high-quality pitches, discussions, networking, and partnership opportunities. At the pitch event, start-ups were able to present their ideas in four different categories: 💡Digital & Consumer Innovation 📈Business & Enterprise Tech  🌱Deep & Climate Tech 🩺Health   Each company had only 3 minutes to impress the jury, consisting of #VC experts, and secure early investments. Christian was part of the jury in the field “Digital & Consumer Innovation”. Alongside colleagues from HV Capital, Acton Capital, CK Venture Capital GmbH, and Wessel Management GmbH, among others, he got to see pitches from a range of exciting start-ups within this field. Our team was impressed by all the innovative ideas. Congratulations to the winner in the category "Digital & Consumer Innovation", Paul Pizzinini (Off). Furthermore, we really enjoyed the great conversations and discussions with founders and other investors next to the official pitches. We had a great time at Cashwalk!     Why were famous landmarks like the “Bremer Stadtmusikanten” recently wrapped in paper? Why should you take your time and spend a few seconds longer when buying #chocolate in the supermarket? And what does the chocolate of today need? 🍫 nucao has the answer to all those questions: The Leipzig-based #startup just launched four new chocolate bars in the flavors Roasted Hazelnut Butter, Almond Butter & Sea Salt, Salted Caramel and Crisp & Crunch. We are excited that those new products not only taste absolutely delicious, but also that nucao developed them together with REWE Group and Naturland Zeichen GmbH using only vegan ingredients and fairtrade cacao from agroforestry (an ecologically sustainable cultivation method which not only protects the soil and rainforest, but also diversifies the farmers' sources of income and stabilizes the cocoa harvest against the effects of climate change). All four bars are Naturland-certified and now can be found in Rewe and dm stores. So, next time you want to treat yourself, consider buying a chocolate that is tasty, fair, and vegan. 🤩 nucao's commitment to #sustainability does not stop at their chocolate, though. The packaging consists of paper reducing its ecological footprint about 8 times compared to standard plastic and aluminum foil packaging. To raise awareness of this innovation in the supermarket shelves nucao and Scholz & Friends decided to wrap well-known German landmarks and everyday items in paper in the course of a large-scale guerilla marketing gig on Instagram and TikTok. We are very happy for our portfolio partner given their latest #milestones and are proud to have been part of their successful journey since last year, when we started to support them with campaigns on our channels after a first media deal. Maybe we'll treat ourselves to a little chocolate tasting to celebrate. 🤔😍

    𝐈𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧’𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐲 – 𝐥𝐞𝐭’𝐬 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐠𝐚𝐩 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐲𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐬!♀️💪🏼 On this important day, we want to celebrate the achievements of #women and underline the significance of #genderequality. However, equality cannot always mean equal treatment. Because what sounds like a solution for gender discrimination can actually turn out dangerous. Men and women are physically different, and these differences need to be acknowledged, especially in #science and medical #treatment. For example, women often show different symptoms when having a heart attack than men, which can lead to a late diagnosis. Furthermore, the dosing of medications is often based on studies with male participants, however, due to differences in physique and hormones, the dosage would need to be adjusted. Otherwise, the medication is not/less helpful for many women or, in the worst case, can put them at risk. Even in times of artificial intelligence, we don’t seem to solve the problem known as the gender data gap: GEO reported that AI used to diagnose breast cancer is less accurate for women as it was trained with data based on men. The good news is the #awareness of the gender data gap and its consequences is growing in politics and business, and there are more and more actions taken to close it. mybacs – a Munich-based #startup we have been invested in since 2021 – not only knows about the differences between female and male bodies and their respective health but also takes action to support both of them specifically. mybacs offers high-quality and clinically tested #supplements that positively influence the microbiome through the power of microorganisms.
