Although the 2024 European Football Championship in Germany is well and truly over, our standard and spherical plain bearings continue to run reliably. Following the completion of the merger of Vitesco Technologies Group AG into Schaeffler AG, trading in new Schaeffler shares commenced on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange today. After the share class conversion, all shareholders hold common shares with full voting rights. Klaus Rosenfeld, CEO of Schaeffler AG, said: “Following the successful merger with Vitesco, a new chapter begins today with the start of trading in the new Schaeffler shares, which now carry voting rights. From now on, it’s one share, one vote at Schaeffler. #StrongerTogether 💛💚🙌 Schaeffler AG has successfully completed the merger with Vitesco Technologies Group AG, which took effect today upon the final entry in the commercial register. Klaus Rosenfeld, CEO of Schaeffler AG, said: “With the completion of the merger with Vitesco today, Schaeffler is entering a new chapter in its corporate history. Despite the challenging environment, the complex transaction was successfully completed according to plan in less than a year. This proves that the two companies are not just a technological but also a cultural match. We look forward to our continued cooperation. Together, we will create a leading Motion Technology Company.” Following the completion of the merger, the integration of Vitesco and Schaeffler starts today (“Day One”). This has been thoroughly prepared by working groups from both companies over the past few months. The Millennium Wheel’s secure foothold is ensured by two INA spherical plain bearings. With an outside diameter of 600 mm and weighing in at 194 kilos each, the two bearings were essential for slewing the wheel from its horizontal mounting position into its vertical operating position, during which enormous contact pressures in excess of 450 N/mm2 were exerted. Since their installation, the bearings have had the task of compensating for wind-induced micromovements. Thanks to ELGOGLIDE, the bearings can accommodate extremely high loads and are maintenance-free. The spherical plain bearings provide spatial, low-moment adjustability, making them ideal for node points where mobility is essential. Changes in the Executive Board of Schaeffler AG: The Supervisory Board of Schaeffler AG made two appointments to the Board of Managing Directors of Schaeffler AG. There is also a further personnel change in the Executive Board. Thomas Stierle (54), who is currently CEO of the Electrification Solutions division at Vitesco Technologies was appointed as CEO of the new E-Mobility division and a full member of the Executive Board of Schaeffler AG with effect from October 1, 2024. As previously communicated, Dr. Jochen Schröder (53), until now head of the E-Mobility business division in the Automotive Technologies division at Schaeffler, will assume the role of Regional CEO Europe also with effect from October 1, 2024. In addition, Christophe Hannequin (48) was appointed as Chief Financial Officer and a full member of the Executive Board of Schaeffler AG. He will take on his role at the latest on October 1, 2025. His predecessor in this function, Claus Bauer, will fulfill his contract until the end of its term on August 31, 2025.
