Leveraging #EarthObservation Data for Enhanced #ARR Project Insights! Our #VerifAId Transparency platform is transforming the way we monitor afforestation, reforestation, revegetation, and conservation projects. By integrating our own EO analytics, we’re able to provide even more accurate, localized insights into the impact of NbS projects—going beyond the limitations of existing global datasets. A huge shoutout to Elias Ayrey (PhD) and the team at Renoster for their recent open-source release of shapefiles from over 500 Carbon Offset Projects from various registries. Thanks to their incredible work, we’ve onboarded this area data base into our platform, giving us a deeper look into the highly diverse quality of these projects. With VerifAId Transparency, we’re committed to: ✅ Standardized project monitoring ✅ Robust due diligence ✅ Transparent communication of ARR impacts Together, we’re building trust in nature-based solutions and driving investments in high-quality, impactful projects. #ClimateAction #NbS #EarthObservation #Sustainability #CarbonOffset #EOData #ARR #VerifAIdTransparency

CarbComply was lately launched to develop innovative EO-based services to prove compliance to various regulations. We are explicitly focusing on the #EUDR and on soil organic carbon #SOC. A great collaboration with our partners GeoVille Information Systems and Data Processing GmbH, CERHA HEMPEL and Umweltdata promoted by the FFG Austrian Research Promotion Agency

Our project will develop cutting-edge EO-based detection services focusing on aboveground biomass (AGB) over 20 years and soil organic carbon (SOC), using Copernicus data and hyperspectral satellite insights. With Cerha Hempel ensuring legal compliance, we are excited to collaborate with RSS and Umweltdata to make this initiative user-friendly for all companies. How heat and cooling effects are visible at micro-scale through VHR thermal data!

In case you are at the INTERGEO in September, join Anna Brand's presentation about our #VerifAId Supply Chain platform to support EUDR compliance checks. #DeepLearning #deforestation #EUDR #EO #AI
The EUDR requires reliable data to effectively monitor and verify deforestation activities. Their service VerifAId uses satellite imagery and deep learning to provide comprehensive and accurate MRV solutions. 🎤 In her presentation, Anna Brand will explain how VerifAId analyzes temporal and spatial changes in forested regions and detects deforestation events in near real-time and with high precision. This innovative approach ensures that stakeholders have access to important, evidence-based information to meet EUDR requirements. At the same time, this contributes to global efforts to combat deforestation, conserve biodiversity and mitigate the effects of climate change. Don't worry about language barriers – her talk will be simultaneously translated. 💡 Secure your ticket for the CONFERENCE now: https://lnkd.in/dtmg6CrS! 🎫 #INTERGEO2024 #GeospatialCommunity #Conference #RemoteSensing #EUDR #Sustainability

#RESTORE4Cs 4th General Assembly in Valencia Coastal wetlands not only offer heavens for 🦅 🐟 🦗 and protection from 🌊, they also play an important role in the carbon cycle and the mitigation of climate change. But how do the type and status of coastal wetlands alter their carbon uptake and emissions? And how can satellite data help assess this? These are some of the questions that the #RESTORE4Cs are addressing, and that we discussed last week as partners met for the 4th general assembly in Valencia. Thanks to the dedicated organizers at the University of Valencia, we also had the opportunity to visit the Majal de Moros wetland and the Albufera lake! These beautiful places feature preserved, altered and restored costal ecosystems which will help respond to our questions.

#Forests4Future implements drone-based forest landscape restoration #FLR monitoring in Ivory Coast. Remote Sensing Solutions GmbH, in joint venture with DFS Deutsche Forstservice GmbH, develop a digital monitoring platform #dMRV for the F4F Programme which is implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in Benin, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Ivory Coast, Madagascar & Togo. The “Digital Triple Level Monitoring Dashboard” is an IT solution for FLR management that integrates three levels of information to monitor #restoration impact, via 1) in-field collected data, 2) drone-based analytics and 3) #EarthObservation. In order to standardise field- and drone data acquisition across all partner countries, RSS & DFS are currently providing training and in-field workshops together with #MINEF (Ministère des Eaux et Forêts) and Agricultural Cooperatives in Ivory Coast. Data that will be collected now and in the coming years will be continuously streamed into the application’s dashboard to monitor the success of the restoration efforts. Next stop Benin...

This week, RSS joined all the #OurMED partners in the Sebou basin in Morocco, to discuss progress and next steps for sustainable water storage and distribution in the Mediterranean region. Our thanks go to #LivingPlanetMorocco for the organization of the successful meeting, including a field trip to Ifrane National Park! It was very interesting to learn about the ongoing work with apple farmers, to improve water use efficiency in order to reduce water withdrawals and eventually restore the dried-out Dayet Aoua lake. Remote sensing can help evaluate the impact of these efforts. Below you find a satellite view of the lake in 1990 and in 2024, emphasizing the need for action! #WetlandRestoration #Copernicus
